ok, boys..play nice.
well RB20 is an ok engine. I've 1 chance to ride in A 240sx with Rb20det in it that belongs to Micheal @ jarco, it's a Drift car. and i have say that I love that engine. yes it does have less displacement that the 25 or 26. but! it's an RB nontheless. the CA, VG, and RB series engine share a lot of internal design. and will withstand decent amount of power. I've seen RB20 make as much power as 350ps, and I've seen less on stock internal. so NO it's not worthless!! but before you guys start pouring $$$$$$ in to your ride...u have to set your priority and goal.
because a 200whp S13 will not out run a 350hp anything on the drag strip, but i can guarantee that the less power S chassis will spank a drag car on the circuit or auto-X anyday. all in all I just have to say I love all Nissan engines it's just that differrent engine in a different car will be good for a different kind of motor sport. and if u wanna show your car...then it doesn't matter!! what u have in it.

Speaking of that Alan, I just ordered a strawberry kit!!!!!! ;) *insert Alan's terror screams now*
i find this hard to believe considering all that he has on his card right now...

to begin with i didnt say i knew nothing about 240's i just dont know as much as most people like you RAEN419!!!! my goal is to do some autox and alot of street racing.im looking to get about 350 - 400hp at the wheels when im done but that will be down the road now matter what engine i go with.i dont want to do the sr cause every tom dick and hairy has done that.not that thats bad but i want something diff. thats why i going to go with the ca or the rb

Its cool man, not everyone knows everything about 240's, heck alot of people at work thought mine was a 2000 something. (97 se silver moss :yummy ) I'm of cource not speaking as if i'm a 240 master, there will allways be someone who knows more, thats the beauty of a fourm-to learn. I'm going to compete in some autoxing this year too, but why in the world would you want to street race. You had me at autox and lost me at street race, street racing is completly asinine. :smacked49

i like street racing its a type of racing i like hell i like all kinds.

:eek4: what? sprinting to the next stop light. :nono There is no point in street racing. Just wait and go to a drag, drift, autox, anything. Street racing can only lead to trouble. I feel better when someone in town revs up next to me and takes off and i ethier turn or go about my business. :rotflmao You did not specify as to where you were racing (rural, urban) but where ever it is, its just not cool.
But if thats your thing then I can't stop you, but if you get in a bad situation, don't hurt anyone else, I'm of cource hoping you never get in a situation like that. I don't want anyone getting hurt.

Street racing around here is not what you see in bs movies like fast and the furious. Our local street racing, if you go with the right people is very organized and theres not any danger reallly to innocents. There is a group of tards here that think fast and the furious shoulda won an oscar but they dont generallly hang around us. We pretty much frequent abandoned warehouse areas in the middle of the night where theres no traffic. i havnt beend down there in a few months for any period of time cuzza da trash at the other group that ends up showing its face.

I still don't approve of street racing but what you say sounds better. At least now if anyone gets hurt it won't be innocent people. Still hoping no one gets hurt, you and your friends and who ever this other group of f&f people are. Just to make sure, judging by the number of post you have and assuming they weren't all made in the post whore thread you know some things. So maybe I missed a post but you didn't think that a s14 was a s15 did you. Someone told you a s15 was there right?

it's not on topic of course....
don't street race, that's for stupid kids w/ civics. what happens when you get caught and lose your car/license?
stick to autoX.
just b/c everyone has a SR doesn't mean you don't need to get one. don't try and be original, it's pointless. just do what works, and do a lot of engine research. if your goal is around 400hp, i'd go SR b/c of weight and durability, however, that engine has too many little problems to be addressed right now. i personally prefer the CA just b/c of it's roots, weight (which isn't much less than a stock KA), and pimpness (yes, i said pimpness).
now, if you do want to be original, go buy a KA and build it. that's something most of us won't do. you'd stand out from the rest of us local guys (well, minus jess down at AU), but "KA-Ting" takes a lot of research to do it right the first time.
just don't rush into buying an engine when you're not entirely sure of what exactly you're looking for. if you want to street race (which is only fun until something goes wrong), the RB25 is a nice decision. 250rwhp stock is always nice.
and i know a lot of people don't know as much as i do, but i don't really know that much. i would venture to say that C and Todd have me beat, and maybe Jess or John, but those 2 dropped of the face of the earth...lol

oh, and didn't the first F&F movie say "it's not what you got in your car, it's how you drive it." wow, a decent quote from a retarded (but entertaining) movie...

Indeed, I was going to be original and get an sr20,but then I found out everyone has got one. Then I was going to get a ca18, well I did, but many people still have them. One thing that makes me original though... no one is quite as crazy as me.. :O

OT.. OT... Well, we here in the Southeast section (btw this is mainly to C) tend to be really off topic and discuss whatever we fell like in the most current threads. Why? Why waste creating new threads while we can just pile old ones up?? See, we are cool kids. Join the crowd!

PS I hope my clutch comes in soon. And damn do I have a busy weekend :(

I'm gonna have to agree that nothing good can come of street racing. Either somebody gets messed up, your car gets messed up or the cops drag your ass off to jail. Any one (or more) will happen if you roll the dice long enough. My opinion is you race on the track and drive on the street – unless it's Grant's Mill, then that's just fun :)

I guess I'm in the minority lately that me KA has been a near trouble-free engine for me. But when it dies, I will most likely go SR and return the old girl to her roots, so to speak.

If I can get even more off-topic, anyone know where I can pick up a shift boot for the new trans? That's the only part I'm missing, and I'm not sure if any of these aftermarket boots are worth the $$ or which one to get if it is. Since mine was (obviously) an auto from birth, I don't have a manual center console so if someone could point a good brother in the right direction... :)

P.S. I really hope my trans swap gets done soon.

go to pullapart and see if they have the 5speed console and then you get a cheap boot off ebay i got one and it works great like 14 bucks shipped.isomeone told me that you take the auto trim on the console and knock out the auto drive letters and use it i dont know so look in to that.

i'm with ^^^. i got my shift boot off ebay, from a guy named ned jackson (think his username was Njackson200 or something). it was like $12 and fits great.

brandon, you have your clutch, quit bitching. i need tie rods....arg!!!

"Ceeeeeeii"!!! off topic!!! no sir "C" don't get off topic!!!! what r u talking about!!! :nono "C" stay on topic until "C" get bored with it..and then "C" find new topic to talk about... :smacked49
BTW Brandon u got ur clutch..quit :monkeyspa and bring it sunday so I can finish the swap... :happyfing C

Yeah, I already tried Pull-a-part, and everything they had was either missing the panel or dry-rotted to hell and back. Isn't there a plastic piece that the boot attaches to that screws into the console? I think I remember seeing one, but not sure if that's something you really need.

Brandon, I'm with C... take him your clutch so he can finish your swap already!

late,
b

C, don't make me come up there....oh wait, i already want to....
brandon, clean your cum off the clutch and get to gadsden.

ok, back to modelling this pimpass 55 chevy shortbed/ford f-100 w/ v8tt and shaker hood...hahaha.
you may look at this and go "wtf?" but i'm working so until than, you shall suffer....bitches...

ok, off the caffeine...
