Good year for the Supras, personally my fav, but I don't like the newer gens of any cars....2500 isn't a bad deal, but you should go s14 in my opinion =o)
No hate, but I'm sure someone'll give you a wedgie

As stated above STAY AWAY from the DSM! I used to own a 91 Talon with a 16g, oh lord was it a money pit. Yes I did rag on that car but a brand new racing clutch lasting me 2 weeks :embarasse , and changing the clutch was a major PITA. Stick with the Supra or be a real man and get another s13! :eek3dance

Irving18m: Did you even let the fucking thing brake in? And who made the clutch? Because I've NEVER heard of anyone going through a GOOD clutch that quickly. DSMs CAN be a money pit but I know of several people that own DSMs that are reliable. I have a friend with a completley build engine although he's on the stock turbo and his car's givin him no problems since the rebuild. I also have a friend with a 50 trim on the stock internals but upgraded fuel and he's had no issues with the engine. It's all in finding a car that was well maintaned, unfortunetly many of them have been beaten on since they're so cheap and young kids can buy them and beat the fuck out of them. It's the drivers that are often times the issue, not the car itself.

Personally I say find yourself a good DSM, or pick up an S14 or something. Bang for the buck you wont find a better car than a DSM.

DSM stands for Diamond Star Motors. A DSM is any Turbo Mitsubishi Eclipse, Eagle Talon, or Plymouth Laser. ONLY the turbos are considered DSMs by true DSM enthusiasts lol. The 2G na's had a 420A in it, which is the same as whats in the neon. The 1G NA's had a NA 4G63 for the DOHC's and a 4G37 for the SOHCs, although like I said only the turbo DSMs are considered true DSMs. Also they were assembled in Normal Il, just for some extra info there for you ;).

No the 3000GT/Stealth are not considered DSMs. No where on their chassis does it say DSM and they were not assembled in Normal, Il but in Japan. The Mirage also is not considered a DSM, and the Galant VR4 technicly is one, although it isn't.

Hey hey calm ur nerves! :crazyrant No need for the cussing, but im a mustang guy. I have owned 5 of them and "breaking in" stuff isnt normal from my world. (Yes I have learned my lessons) But whatever the reason Im not saying the DSM is bad cause i burnt up a brand new clutch, yet saying that go to any DSM site and look at all the new posts in the technical forum! :) I got my 91 Talon for $900 in MINT condition with 110k miles or so, from a friend that had previously ragged on it pretty bad. I can say going from a Mustang to a Talon was a horrible idea but I sold it and learned my lesson! :nono But if your stuck on it go for it. I was running 20 lbs of boost and lets just say that I made MANY mustang guys MAD! :thumbsup

How was it in MINT condition if your friend 'ragged on it pretty bad'? :p like I said, it's the owners of the cars that turn those things into pieces of shit, not the cars lol. And not swearing because I'm angry, I just randomly throw them in lol. Just my nature at times ;).

My long time friend, almost like a brother has a 2g Talon TSI AWD, and runs 750 injectors and a t3/t4 50 trim at 22 lbs of boost quite well. Full engine rebuild and a john shep tranny rebuild. It's down less than my 240, and all I have is a 3" cat-back, intake, no vacuum lines, and new spark plug wires :-x

In your world I guess they don't make any sense either...lol...

Breaking things in is normal no matter what you drive, unless you get your information from idiots.

You called the DSM a "money pit", when you admit to ragging on it. That's not the car's fault.

You said it was "mint", but your friend ragged on it too...That's not mint buddy. You probably didn't do any of the maintenance when you bought it either...fluids, belts, water pump, compression check and leakdown test (not maintenance, but you get the point), etc...

You can't expect it to be THAT reliable on 20psi either, especially for it being that old and probably never being rebuilt...hopefully you at least didn't try to do that without an upgraded fuel system, etc.

DSMs aren't as bad as most people think...

My bro had an 11sec 1G a year ago. It was fast, cheap, but horribly unreliable. I will never ever buy a mitsubishi / Dodge

Cheap + Fast = Unreliable
Cheap + Reliable = Not Fast
Reliable + Fast + Not Cheap

Dsm's are extremely fun to mess asound with but you better have another car to be your d.d. My buddys 1gen awd with a boost controller and full exhaust layed waste to this 04 gt stang i repo'd and raced him in. Not bad for 300 dollars worth of mods.

wtf is the matter with you guys. buddy you should go buy an fc or fd, rotary luv. J/k buy w/e you want if i had the money to buy another car i would just go rotary cause they're so different.
