Here are some photos of the new bumper after all the sanding was done and I finally got ahold of my camera ... I'll have better photos tomorrow morning when it's all nice and sunny before it gets sprayed. Trust me, after tomorrow, this thread will be blanketed in photos ... I'll probably have to create a new WTDR account just to host all of the new photos ...

Now here is what the car looked like after all of the wet sanding was finished. I had Alan Pierson and his friend Dane do my car itself and the new fender and headlight door ... In two hours or less, they can have your car wet sanded down and ready for paint. They'll work with you on the price as well and if you give them a hand with it, they won't charge as much.

Like I said, I'll have better photos tomorrow. It will be totally documented in pictures ... if I had a DVR camera, I would get video as well, but sadly, I do not. If you want to get in touch with Alan to do the work for your car, hit me with a PM and I'll give you his number. He doesn't do just primer (which is what we are doing to my car) but does full on paint jobs as well.

Stay tuned for more photos of tomorrow's session and photos from Sunday after the car has a chance to bake in the sun and the windows all nice and shiney.

UPDATE!

The car is sitting in the garage locked down and curing ... and venting fumes out of the garage. I have to take the bumper back off eventually and put the foam shit back into it, but that's another project for another day. But anyway, it's been painted and it looks AWESOME. I have to put the turn signals back on and one of the side markers on the new fender ... but aside fromm that, it is done.

The paint shop has this new stuff that they just got that comes in a rattle can ... it already has hardener and reducer in it. My buddy and his friend did all the painting because I do not know how ... I did everything except the actual painting of the car. But we were going to use his gun to do it, but we saw this stuff at the shop and compared it to a gun paint (the shop let us do test sprays on a fender they had there) and there really is no noticeable difference.

The car is currently painted flat black. One of my other friends brought his good camera over (because mine sucks, as I am sure you can tell) and took a few snapshots of the car. He should be sending them to me soon, so as soon as I have them, so will you guys!

I don't recall the brand ... I have to go get another one to get rid of the patchy paint on my hood ... when I get it, I'll be sure to let you know.

My buddies who painted it ran outta paint as they worked towards the front of the car. The tail end of the car is perfect, but the front end needs more. That'll be fixed later this week ... prolly after I get my suspension work done.

flat black seems to be the fad these days. but i dont mind it. looks good, but i def dont approve of the l.e.d winshield washers.autozone special???

My next plans follow later this week ...

Tein S-tech springs, KYB GR2 shocks/struts

I figured I would go with the flat black for a number of reasons: cheap, car is a racer - not a show stopper, and it gives the car a rough look

what was wrong with the original paint? my bro flat blacked his because he bought a shell that had body damage and therefor had miscolored body panels due to the replacements not matching. from what i could tell i never saw anything wrong with the paint you had.

It was all oxidized and looked like shit ... and it was peelin away underneath the mirrors to where you could see the orignal factory charcoal paint. One of the previous owners had it resprayed that ugly ass blue. Oh well. The flat black is definitely distinctive.

Hughes - go back to the Scoobie forums. Come out to the autocross race. I hear you chickened out against Ryan. Heard you kept making excuses over on MaconRacers.org. You ain't worth my damn time. Drop the high school bullshit.

I picked my car up for $500. I ain't gonna bitch about the transmission when I get a car that runs for that kind of money and it had just over 105k miles on the odo. Dumbshit.

Dude... really, take a step back and think about what you did before you start knocking somebody else. You said that the flat black makes it distinctive? according to my good ol' webster's dictionary distinctive is defined as "a : serving to distinguish b : having or giving style or distinction." now correct me if i am wrong, which generally i am not, but how is flat black on a 240 distinctive in any way? i've never liked what you have done to your car but i always thought the color was nice, but then you went and did this. also, the low dollar cost has been your excuse for the auto tranny yet you continue to do lots of small, ricey, BS mods that could add up to a 5 speed swap. And to make things worse, you talk about how much you love to autocross. Trust me it only gets funner with a 5 speed!!

btw how did andy chicken out against ryan? i hear he talks about trippers skylines like they're his and all he has is a saturn... which isn't much.

EDIT: my bro has a spare '90 S13 that has everything for a 5-speed swap if you're interested he may be able to let you have it for the right price. Don't give me Bullshit excuses why you don't have 5 speed yet, i've come across plenty of 5 spd 240's that cost a lot less than that hks hi power exhaust you have that gave you 50 whp... or was that just the window banners?

Ryan doesn't own a car? YOU JUST SAID HE HAS A SATURN!!! He has his Saturn, his motorcycle, and his truck. Dumbshit.

You think you can own my car in an autocross race? You're probably right. You have AWD and about twice the horsepower that my car has. Ooo ... you beat a KA24E powered 240sx. You're a badass now. I never claimed that I could beat you asshole. Quit bringing drama to the forum when it doesn't need to be said here. Grow the fuck up.

I have ricey mods? Okay, I will give you the vinyl interior that was $15. But last I checked, $15 doesn't buy a 5 speed swap. I am getting a CA18DET in the winter. You do your shit and I will do mine. You hang out with your friends, I hang out with mine. You comments are totally unnecessary.

I have two window banners: Car club and Cool Cat Racing. I claimed my cat back added 50 whp? When did I say this? Maybe 5 whp ... certainly not 50
