spray the bay black... it won't take too much time, and a black engine bay always looks neater/cleaner than any colored one.
I've thought about it, but I might get my car resprayed the original color after it's finished. Or to a point where the exterior is done.

I saw this post and saw "henry's Sr20/240 Progress" and was like what the I already swaped my motor or who's spying on me with the new engine build up!
That's right! I forgot someone else on this board is named Henry. It's very odd to meet someone else with the same name. Now if your not over 60, or Asian I'd be even more surpised. I've met a few asian Henry's. Nice car BTW!

? Haha.. money and parts is not what has been holding me up this whole time. For the most part it's been work, and all the other things going on that I need to spend time doing. I could just order all the parts I want for my car, but I can't stand it when I have parts lying around that I don't have time to install. I won a complete Infinity Kappa compents system for my car in the summer of 03. Still not completely installed...

If I can I'll try and call when I get home. If you do find out anything let me know. The weather looks HORRIBLE this sat... 2 inches of rain, wind and thunderstorms. So, I might not be able to get the car out in the driveway to pressure wash it. If there is a break in the weather on Sunday I may be able to do it.
I will talk to Marcus on Saturday, so I should post Sunday on anything that I find out. Money really isnt holding me up, I left myself a decent budget. Buit those are only meant to be broken.
Anyways body work is really holding me up. Thats why I really just want to start with a better car. With the motor I could just run out and buy parts that are at hand, but I really like to do my research first. I just dont want to start mixing internals to find out that there is better product out there.
I havent been able to find many posts about the internals of the SR. I called a few of the bigger SR companies, but they were vague. They seemed more like order takers than really techincal support. "the CP pistons are better than Wiseco because they cost more". WTF!! That doesnt do it for me. If I know more about the product than the guys who is selling it does, then I am worried.
So basically where I am at is, I am trying to do research with some companies that I dealt with in the ATV business. Like Web Cam, JE Piston and Kibblewhite. I, still have relations with these companies and I believe that I can build a better motor than some of these quacks out there. Hats off to Heavy throttle though, those guys treated me good and were very helpful. I am not all that impressed with the EZ install kit that I got from them though, quality is a little on the cheap side. I am not going the cheap route.

Well, the weather turned out to be just as bad as they said it would. So, maybe tomorrow I'll get to work cleaning out the bay. Looked at a few different engine degreasers at a local auto part store, but didn't buy anything. Probably, go back tomorrow and just pick something.

Did you get my PM about the 3, 240's in Portland?

I got the chance to spend about an hour cleaning what I could in the engine bay. Ugh.. what boring work it is. Just about done though, and it looks 100% better. Only found a few spots of surface rust which I'll need to take care of.

Anyone happen to know a good company that sells OEM paint in rattlecans? I can't find the link I had saved for them. I'm not looking for a perfect paintjob, but I need to touchup a few spots.

Well, when I got home today there was this huge ass box on my doorstep... couldn't think of what it could be since I have a few parts on order, but nothing THAT big.

After I got a better look... oh yeah.. that one part I ordered that has NOTHING to do with me finishing my swap. :smacked49 Damn, you've got to love buying shit on impulse. Good deal though. $430 I believe it was, brand new.

Now I just need to wait for a few more things, and order my clutch as well.

Did you end up working on the engine bay? It was pouring down here. I didnt get a chance to see Marcus, But I will find out before this weekend. Make sure to get all the rust off and use some metall etching primer. It will last longer.
I did get the pm, thanks! That is a little too rich for me, even though a guy could make some good $ parting them out. Plus I have my heart set on another coupe. There was an 89 up in Kent with all the power b/s for $1200, I was one the phone 30secs later and it already sold. :crazyrant
The lights are super sexy :yummy I really wish they had something that cool for the coupe

I was hoping that guy would maybe just sell you one. He is selling all 3 as a package only?

Yeah, I cleaned up pretty good. Just need to hit a few more places and do some light sanding. Let me know what you find out.

This car is starting to remind me a lot of another one I know of...........my own!!! Hahaha nice job so far, keep us updated!

What is your HP goal for your SR? That should help you figure out what clutch you should get, and wether or not it will get you to your HP goal or not.
Hope that advise helps,

I'm basically going to upgrade most of the support mods, besides the fuel. I'll just have your basic bolt-ons, with the boost cranked up a little. So, I'm not looking for big HP now. I'll stick with that setup, so I can work on the exterior, etc. Later in the year may be a different story. :heyhey

Well, hopefully you don't have anything serious wrong with your car. I knew someone that stored a car for a few months and a little mouse decided to make a nest using part of the main wiring harness. :eek4:

I've seen this in person many times, but when it's your own.. it's looks like a piece of art. I should hang this fucker on the wall of my living room. :thumbsup $295 shipped.

Here are some comparison shots I took for a buddy to convince him the OEM rad. is worthless. If you haven't bought a Koyo, start saving.
