You beat a superior car with an inferior driver. You got lucky. Put an average driver in that and the protege would rape your little KA 240. Not to mention it would drive circles around you at any track/autox etc. All this and he still has a warenty.

So tell me again why the msp protege is gay?

hey esco check this out...
his car is maxed out right now. 10psi thats it! And i beat him naturally aspirated. How bout some fuckin props ur all gay. If u guys like msp's so much why don't u go buy one. I sure as hell am not gonna spend 15,000 on a fwd car thats 4 door and cant even spin em in place. and might i add no potential.

my life revolves round boobs and spinning tires.

msps r gay
Don't come on some forums hunting for props, if you want props you'll have to earn respect and post some vids. It's kinda like a teenie boper girl running around fishing for compliments.

15k is about average for a 4dr sedan, I don't know what the complaint is.
I have no need for a msp. Go ahead call me gay, I know I drive on a higher level than you do. I could care less about drag racing. I'll be keeping an eye on you.

wow this guy is crazy! MSP even though they aren't intercooled from the factory (i don't believe my friend's is, never really looked) should still beat a normal old KA n/a, I like msp's. I don't like people who think because they beat a driver that the car they beat is inferior to what they drive. I know a guy who thinks because he beat a vette because of mechanical problems that he "beat" the vette and tells many people this. That's like fighting Frank Shamrock, him passing out from low blood sugar and you saying you knocked his ass out, it's stupid.

p.s. get him esco if he posts too much more crazy things.

No they come with a small side mount that sits on the drivers side inside the engine bay. From what I hear, they're pretty much useless and heat soak in not much time at all. :greddy:

sorry i was mistaken but none the less , it's a non existent intercooler haha

I'm starting to think that some people on these forums say stuff just to be difficult, lol. Like a bunch of bandwagon haters.

I would rather have a 240SX than a MSP any day. Sure the MSP might handle better, be a bit faster and be newer out of the box. But if you are really serious about performance at the end of the day you paid more for your MSP that has less potential because it's a FWD sedan.

I'm not saying that an MSP is a bad car. Just saying that I think the 240SX is a better platform.

What does the MSP run in the quarter mile? From what I've been able to find is a stock msp only runs around 15.8 give or take 2 tenths of a sec for elavation maybe. If the ka 240 is running pretty good then it could be a close race. Now with a crappy driver in a msp, then it would be a win for the 240 only if the driver of the 240 is a good driver too. Again with alot of wheel hop. Thats a big no no cause everybody knows that kills the 60times and top speed on the 1/4. The driver of the msp is totally not skilled at driving yet. The specs to the msp 170hp@6000rpm/160tq@3500. There is power down low for the msp. Its just that he doesn't know how to handle it correctly. Now don't get me wrong. I'm down with the mazda's because I own a 2003 mp5. I think I can run faster than the car; but, thats no the reason I bought the car. It really has no guts unless you can swap the FS-ZE engine from the familia mp5's from japan.

Sorry, I had some time on my hands so I thought I could type a bit to kill time.

that's cool s13 vic good info. yeah they run mid 15s stock but with just an mbc my friend's ran 14.7 so easy to make them fast. The handling is really what makes them shine. Also fastestzntn, 240sx is a better platform but the n/a stock ka is not a better platform than the turbo engine in the msp.

The 240sx has much better potential in the long run, it's fr and 50/50 balanced and that alone is what gives it the advantage. But I don't think anyone is arguing against that fact.

The msp is a 4dr econo sedan, with that in mind it's really respectable in performance considering we don't have civic typeR's or anything comparable for that matter. The chassis is stiff as hell and it's great. No shit it's fwd lol It's about as good as it gets for it's class of car. You buy it because you want something new with warranty and you want a sedan that seats 5 people and does repectable in gas mileage and carrying groceries. You can't get a 240sx with warranty and it's not as comfortable of car, it's another apples to oranges comparison again because one is usually new and the other is usually a beat-down project car.

It isn't meant to be a rwd balanced car with sweet performance, thats what rx series and miata is for right?

I don't know about where you are, but here the MSP and the 240sx are in different racing classes. With that said, I've seen TR6'es and MGB's completely decimate everything by over 10-15 secs.

I think that the MSP is a good choice for some, but here at the local 1/8th I've had my KA to a best of 9.4, and have yet to see a sub-10 sec. time for a MSP.

About potential...
The MSP might have a turbo engine stock, but those of us with FWD DSM's know that you can only go so far before it's a waste of money. My 95 TSi FWD has ~240hp and it will spin 3rd. There are guys running 600hp that can only run mid 11's. A ~3000lb RWD or AWD car should be in the 10's easy with that.

BTW, what is the highest HP made in a MSP?
