LOL...sorry no updates on mine right now. I just bought a place and I haven't had too much time (or space) to work on my ride. This spring I will be going crazy with it though - hopefully !

For the time being, check out this Miata I did last summer:

Thats great bass on a budget and one of the loudest Miatas out there. I charged him $350 US for all the labour.

Im a noob when it comes to car audio but what is the blue stuff covering the spare tire well?

Oh. lol. thought it might be a wierd form of dynamat or something. Well why do you cover it then?

It makes the removal of the fibreglass form much easier. If I didn't use tape, the f/g form would never come out - it would be a permanent fixture. I also sprayed a little WD-40 on it to make the removal easier as well. Some people use tin foil for this purpose.

heres my setup nothing special. the only reason i bought the speakers is because they were really cheap brand new. the amps were also cheap so.. its really loud. i dont have the amps turned up all the way and it get to the point where its unbareable. so im happy with it. im not a competition person. or something completely custom but i did like what you did with the miata man thats really awesome. i spent a total of about $450 on this setup.

Alpine CDA 9827 MP3 Deck

Alpine SWS 1242D
Dual 4ohm Type S Sub parrelled to 2ohm 900peak 300rms
and a umbrella. The Sub hits pretty good for $90 but after hearing my friends JL 10W6 at 300rms. I will probably switch to a JL sub later on

Alpine 4 channel and Alpine Mono amp
The rea strut bar has functions
1. minimizes rear body roll
2. prevents the amps from getting stolen (through the trunk)
3. Is used as the ground

by mounting them on the rear, it allows easy access for amp tuning.

see instead of jbl what you really want is the new design of the type r alpine subs.. now they are nice...
I love how you grounded your system there. Thats mint heh
Did you make the proper sizing for that box? my type s 10 in my other car is in a smaller box. I went by the sizing that alpine suggests tho.

yeah the box is good.
I hope you meant JL not jbl (which is crap when it comes to car audio, good at home audio)

The w6 and w7 are like the best subs on the market

I want to get a JL 10W6, then i can still use my 300watt rms Alpine amp.
If I get the Type R sub I won't notice any more bass power difference unless I get a more powerful amp.

The Type R is cool but personally think JL is way better in subs when it comes to bass power per watts

couple of my friends have JL...one has 2 12 inch W7 in his monte carlo and my other friend has 3 10 inch W3v2 in his turbo lebaron...im buying 3 JL 12 inch w3v2 which will pound...cant wait 300$

trunk space isnt going to be a problem this guy is gonna make me custom fiberglass box...gotta draw up a design and see how much it costs and shit...but hopefully 2 weeks or so i will get the subs....today get pix of my friends setups if i can
