Anyone removed their dashboard befor?

heh. I covered up my vin plate with black tape with my painted dash.

The reason why is because of theives. Some theives have pocket key maker. which uses vins to make keys. think i'm joking?

It's not a pocket key maker you enter the VIN into, some have the list of vins and keycodes more than likely...once they match the vin to the code they cut the key, it's a simple process really and why there are chipped keys now along with different styles of keys rather than the typical 'toothed' key. This information shouldn't be so easily available, but asshats working at the dealerships make it real.

They had a thing on hard copy or a similar show where a lady called a bunch of dealerships stating she was locked out of her car (really a vehicle that didn't belong to her)...none of the dealerships turned her down and most made her the key free. The policy on this is usually a registration/title document must be provided to prove ownership. oh well.

OK, well I managed to wrestle it out over the steering colum... which was so freakin hard. Well, how do I get it back in without scratching up my new paint job??? NRG, how is it that you pulled it in and out so quickly?

I got skills... You need to drop your steering colum. It falls down to the floor. I pulled the dash over the shifter, then flip it forward and slide it out the door. took 20sec.

WEll I guess I got skillz to cuz, I got it over the steering colum without dropping it at all.

Everything is back together and I now have a beautiful black interior!
