:eek3dance i took the value cover and painted to red yesteday
also changed the intake(its not the whole intake, just the head filter)
i didnt touch the sensor on the intake pipe..
when i turn on my car, the engine runs horrible.. runs good a while then shakes and rpm become 500rpm. the shift knob shakes too, like a new drive pulls the clutch too quick.. i found out the spark plug cables too old, might is the problem, so i changed.. but same thing.
maybe the reason is i painted the value cover or installed something wrong on the value cover?(color causes engine's problem???!!)
the intake? maybe the sensor felt too much airs come in??

double check your valve cover gasket, it sounds like there may be a leak. if you can hear the valves clicking. or it could be the timing chain on the guide. hopefully not. i know this is very basic, but try checking for oil leaks around the valvecover, and then try adjusting the idle. see if bumping it up helps to stabilize the idle, then work from there.

i changed the air filter back, almost solve the problem. the intake is bad..
but it still shakes a little bit when its idle. should i buy a injector treatment put in my gas tank? or the old 91 240sx likes that, when its idle, shakes a little bit on engine and shift knob..

TAKE IT TOO A MACHANIC!...your gonna spend more money ruining your engine by yourself...think about it...

But check all the connections...

Is that all you painted? you moved something around that for sure...because the VALVE cover should have to do with anything unless you tightened it soo much that it cracked....also...DID ANYTHING FALL IN THE ENGINE WHILE IT WAS OPEN!????? the clicking noise is a bad thing man. you should get that checked out before you decided on running it again. Just take it to a mechanic...a trusted one...and let him decide whats wrong... the car should act like that by simply addeing on a new filter and painting the valve cover...you screwed up....should have left it alone.
