The turbo with the compressor elbow is the rb25 turbo, the turbo with the 3 bolt flange but no elbow is the rb20 turbo and the other turbo is the non ball-bearing z31 turbo

hey phil your car did sound like its running better when you went by steves house the other day and BTW you should have painted ur engine bay and valve cover,timing cover,intake mani and exhuast mani while u had it apart.ohwell looks good on the outside haha.

ahh yes, topmout t3 series, i see you took my advice :). looks damn good though, cant wait to see it in action.

oh yea, and in contrast to your sig, is SSA stuff considered knock off:12dunno :thumbsup

I'm having to redo the intercooler piping so yet again I am waiting on parts :crazyrant

the hood clears fine :thumbsup

I bought a ssa manifold and turbo because I wasted over $700 on turbos that people never shipped to me. First I bought a rb25 turbo from NZ for $250 and it never came, then I bought one off some forums for $300 and it ended up blown and next I bought the same ssa turbo I have now off ebay for $200 and it never showed up... so it really sucks but yes I have to use this crap :tears

Is there something weird with the VG30 solid lifters? In the Tomei online catalog they list the solid lifter upgrade for the RB20, RB25, VG30 and the CA18 as the same part #. That leads me to believe that the VG30 lifters are not as good as the RB26 lifters.
I am going to either go with a Tomei set up on my RB25 head, or just swap to an RB26 head altogether.

sucks about what happend. looks grea tnow tho. will you be keeping your stock intake mani? im interested to see how you will do your piping with stock intake mani and a top mount exhaust mani.

well its not a matter of the lifters being 'not as good' as rb26 lifters but rather just being diffrent.
the rb25/20 hydro lifters are diffrent dimentions than the rb26's so you really couldnt just swap the lifters into the head.
