How much would you pay for a Plug-n-Play MegaSquirt ECU for the
'95+ DE motor?
It will be in the stock Nissan ECU case and same connector.
All you need to do is take the old ECU out and plug the new one in. And run a hose to the ECU for the MAP signal (up to 20psi boost). Then send old one to me and get core credit.

It will have a map to get it runing like the stock ECU.
Everything else will work like on stock ECU ( a/c, cooling fan, est.)

But you will have full control over fuel, timing and dataloging.

EDIT: This setup will get rid of the MAF!!

Here is the MS website:

I just wana see if it would be worth the time developing it for others.

The only reason I said the 95+ is cuz I have one my bro has one and most of my friends have one or two so I have plenty of cars to do testing on. As for the early (DE) is not much different, I will make it work for early DE also right after I finish the 95+.

Things ae looking pretty good with the replys so far :)

AEM needs to watch its back!!

Not a very accurate description of what computer you are woking on. IF you say 95+ then you are just saying 95. Unless you are going to be doing both OBD-1 adn OBD-II. OBD-II was not released until 96, so if you are focusing on the 95 then the 91-94 will be a cake walk,as there is almost no difference as far as the motor is concerened. Now OBD-II is a whole different story. So which is it OBD-I or II.

OBDI and II use the same CPS (crank poss. sensor) and ign. coil that is the most important part. The big diference with OBDII is the extra EGR and diagnostic stuff.
Forgot to mention that the EGR system will not work.

I didn't write a lot of details because for now I just wana see if there is interest in something like this at all.

I what to make it use the stock CPS, ign. coil and temp sensors. Maybe you will need to add a extra temp sensor in the intake close to the TB on boosted cars.

i think there's a lot more involved than you're aware of, or at least telling us. Everyone needs to know that this is 100% standalone, it really shouldnt matter what OBD the car has cause all that stuff will be gone...a map sensor has to be added....and i have heard that you couldn't use the stock ignition system...talk to rps13 from zilvia (i forget his name on here, he has a DIY thread on itb's )...but its a bit more than just plugging in a new ECU...i mean it could be just that but there'd be a lot of unused wiring and stuff left over.

With enought effort you can make a wooden arrow go through a rock!
yes, by blasting the rock with a stick or two of dynamite first. :heyhey

OBD-1, show me numbers, show me charts, show me the action and you can count me in.
