My god - after watching that, did anyone else think of that poor kid that was in like every one of your classes at school that, when he tried to read something, just sounded like a complete moron? Not that he was reading everything he was saying (obviously), but he just sounded boarder-line illiterate to me. He was trying to make a point and only succeeded in sounding like an uneducated douche bag.
Not trying to say that i either agree or disagree with what he was saying, but i mean, if you're going to try to make a point, at least try to do it in a somewhat intelligent manner.

We should have over under bets on how long it is before kanye west ever gets a chance to appear on a live feed on any network. I say three years.
I'll give him this, it took balls to say it, although it probably wasn't the time to complain about race issues. It's kind of egotistical to use your tv time to say what you want when you've been brought in for a purpose. Kanye West isn't starving, but the way the medias handling coverage is pissing him off, so his temper tantrum about what issues matter to him was selfish. He should have shut the fuck up and raised as much as he could. His interview on MTV recently left me with the same impression. He seems fairly intelligent but he needs to get over himself in a big way......he is more arrogant than talented IMO. He seems pretty articulate when eh has time to think about what hes going to say, he was probably very very rushed and nervous in that situation, I can understand the semi-crack head style of delivery.

i really dont like that he used the format of a televised fund raiser for a platform for his beliefs. That just seems really opertunistic and crude.
My cousin does tree work up here in virginia, and right when he heard about the devestation down there, he loaded up all his equipment and went down there to make lots of money. I hate that too; also oppertunistic and crude. I mean, there's a difference between wanting to help people and just wanting to make cash, and my cousin was all about the $$$, not the ppl.
Different examples, but similar, if that makes sense. I just dont think people should ever in any way try to capitalize on other people's suffering.

I still don't understand the extreme hatred for the President that so much of the young population have. During his two terms he's had two deal with the two worst events in American history. Its easy to place blame, be it with the President, the governor of Louisiana, or the Mayor for not organizing a better evacuation plan.
But you, just like Kanye West, only make matters worse when you make blanket statements like that. What he said was absurd and totally irresponsible.

I do like Kanye West but that was definitely not the right place or time to say it. Don't think that Kanye West is speaking for all black people because he is not. I am black and I think that instead of arguing and blaming each other, I think that this country should just join together and get these people back on there feet as soon as possible.
Another thing is that why not use some of the homeless people to help rebuild the city instead of them just sitting around all day.
