does anyone know what the hell this sensor is??? theres two vacuum nipples on it, its green(behind brass case), and has a two wire plug connected to it and sits to the right of the ignitor(see red circle). also, it has a black cap that spins around but doesnt do anything

when i got my sr20det wiring harness it had that on it too...but was told it wasnt needed when doing the harness. I talked to a guy that does sr swaps as a job, hes out of alabama he said it wasnt needed.

I'm not exactly sure what it is but i didnt put it in my car and everything works great

vacuum lines not attached, just a two wire plug that goes into the main harness...

disconnected it, now car idles at 12-something:1 and leans out to 18 or 19 with light throttle and drops back to 14.ish:1 under full boost...actually it was doing all of this before disconnecting the mystery sensor except it was idling around 13-14:1 afr

this things f*#%ed up, help anyone who can please!!

It is the egr and canister control solenoid valve

"the egr and canister control solenoid valve responds to signals from the ecm. when the ecu sends and on signal, the coil in the solenoid valve is energized. A plunger will then move to cut the vacuum signal (from the throttle bottle to the egr valve and canister purge valve). when the ecm sends the off signal, the vacuum signal passes through the solenoid valve. the signal then reaches the egr valve and carbon."

if you removed the carbon canister and egr...you have no use for it.

thanks dsmart, i knew it wasnt the boost control solenoid as i already removed that, must have just been coincidence that this occurred

is that the carbon canister and egr crap right by the fuel tank? i was wanting to remove that because that is right beneath where i mounted my battery, but i was afraid it might throw a cel or something.

no, the evap can sits in front of the engine (in the engine bay), you dont really need any emissions control stuff... remove the cat egr and evap can

what the hell does "throw a cel" mean
