oh yeah, forgot to say:

i like this car, period.
it needs reduced body roll, a lower stance, more camber up front, lighter wider wheels, a nardi wheel, roll bar (if i can fit it w/o having any clearance issues with my head), and chikara upper mounts, but for some reason, unlike with the 240, i'm not in a huge hurry to upgrade, upgrade, upgrade.

i guess you could say Mazda did do something right.
well you know the car came to the states in it's original form, not detuned or milked down ahem like some other cars. . . . . NB's were still available without air conditioning and power steering btw for the hardcore enthusiasts.

Many companies have forgotten the classic sports car formula, that is lightweight and peaky powerplant. And remember don't drive it like a 240sx, instead rev the bejesus out of it. It wants you to and it has no problem in doing it:supercool

A miata will make you understand what having a sportscar is all about. You'll start realizing why nissan originally put sr's into 240sx's(why the stock ka is such a horrid decision). You'll understand why roadsters are so fun, why it's so fun having the top down and driving on the backroads. You'll understand why so many sports cars have such peaky high revving powerplants. It is the way it's meant to be. Sure miata's could have more power, and in my opinion starting out with the nb's they have enough but could you imagine driving a miata where most of it's power was down low, sounded like a truck and topped out at around 5k rpms? :eek4:

I respect mazda morso than other companies that were taking thier sporty cars and switching them to a cheaper fwd platforms or making them based of a platform that would have to be shared between several other cars or making thier sports car heavier and heavier for every generation without a meaning or purpose behind it other than to satisfy the overall american market(90% of them drive autos) even though they lost tons of money probably because of these decisions, they still stuck to thier original formula. Lets just hope ford doesn't swallow the company whole(they only have 30% of shares)

preach brotha!!!

I think you and the rest of you guys have convinced to me to get a roadster.

Step one: sell car
Step two: can't, so bend over and take it and lower the price

...
...
...
Final step: good times.

ahhh i love to dream

Dreaming is fun... It's making those dreams a reality that make it all worth it. BTW DudeofBeauty... When I came home from the bar last night your sig was tripping me out. LOL

i don't drive it like the 240. i can't, it doesn' grip well enough yet...hahaha

i think i might try to pick up a set of Chikara Motorsports mounts next week to give the shocks some more travel (mainly in the rear). the shocks on the car ARE THE ORIGINALS and they are in seriously good condition, so i think i'll keep them until they blow (give me until spring) and then go w/ koni's and some good springs.
i won't go turbo for a while though. i'm starting back to class in the spring, so my consistent cash flow will probably drop a decent amount since Mech. Engineering is the 2nd hardest major at UA....ugh....

Doesn't grip well enough yet? What all did you have done to your 240? Mine gripped like crap... Come into a turn and just have oversteer galore... This was on or off throttle. :12dunno I'd take a Miata with stock suspension over the 240 setup, anyday. But that may just be me talking.

I showed a friend from my school (who loves miata, rotories, Tvr's,Jags, ect) your car and he flipped out lol.

"a miata with a rotory!!!! holy fucking shit dude!!!"
What did he flip out for? The looks of it, or the plans for it? Just wondering...

Finally! Found the pic I've been looking for all over the net! NA Bridgeported 13B in an NA Miata... :yummy

Image

that looks way to sexy. ^ I love the rims too

My bud went crazy becauase he liked the way your miata looked, had in it, and what you were going to do with it.

He always wanted to know what would happen with a rotor in a miata.

I told him: "its been done, check this out, you will like it."
he saw it " HOLY FUCKING SHIT DUDE!!! "

my 240 has:
MR coilovers (8/6), SPL tie rods, SPL subframe spacers, C-Tune ruca's, VLSD, Hicas rear sway bar, ebay rstb for suspension.

tires are 205/60/15 BF Goodrich Touring T/A's that grip like hell in dry/wet weather for daily driving.

i agree that i would take a stock Miata's suspension over a stock 240. but my 240's suspension was very well tuned (by me, mainly) and with enough toe-in on the rear end (b/c it was so low) and -2 all around camber, it rarely broke loose unless i pushed it hard enough or hit some seriously uneven pavement during a turn at a good speed.
but also remember, my NA has stock everything and the tires are like....something random...lol

anyone wanta a greddy turbo mani and saab IC? i need to sell it and the 440cc injectors soon. i think i might just ebay it as a package...or put it on miata.net.

This would explain why your 240 handled... Haha. I would try throwing it on Miata.net... I'm sure someone will snag it up pretty quick.

i was going to, but i think i found a local guy who may pick up the car in stock condition w/ s14 seats/seatbelts, 8.5mm ignition wires for a good price.
and then i'm going to sell the suspension as a package to one of my thai friends who almost hooked me up w/ a pimp bmw silver (he does body/paint work) 90 base model that he stripped down, rebuilt, and overhauled himself....but then he sold it to someone at ALDOT for like $5000....which is alot more then he put into the car.

^Haha!

pics of the miata? no where yet. the weather in tuscaloosa has been shit for 2 days. and with DST kicking everything back an hour, it's already nearly dark by the time i get off work (which sucks). i'm still waiting for a chance to take some pics of the 240 w/ my friends digicam, but with the inconsistent rain we've had, there's no point in washing the car.
btw, the 1.6L rules. i never thought 116hp/90-95rwhp could feel so good/responsive. i don't know if it's the gokart feel or the throttle response, but my new toy is too much fun. i wish i had never bought a 240...lol

Haha! It's already starting to grow on him... Muhahahaha.
