300zx tranny upgrade for SR

The project that I started a few months ago is finally complete and the tranny upgrade I'd been waiting for is available.

The only thing missing from the pics is a machined bellhousing that is needed to mount the tranny to the SR...as well as a custom driveshaft needed with a Z32 yolk.

Hopefully i'll have mine by next week.

wow, how ambitious! Are SR20 trannies that weak though? I dont hear of many letting go even with a ton of boost

No..SR trannies are not that weak and these tranny upgrades are really meant for people running over 400hp and for drifters. For the daily driver on stock turbo this is way overkill. But I killed 2 trannies this year and I've got 430whp. One tranny broke at the output shaft. The second lost third gear when it was already IN gear...shreaded the teeth right off.
