why did u go with a CA ?

with an S14, i would of went with a S14 black top, or an RB25...
but then again thats my opinion...
dont see why generation would effect my decision unless i was scared of wiring, which wasn't bad at all. ill be happy with ~200whp for now and the CA will have no problem getting me there just as easily as either of the motors you listed.

Yikes! As long as you enjoy it. It is 2 steps backwards though but nice job nonetheless. My concerns with the ca are parts availability.
im content with 200whp and theres definetly enough fuel pumps, regulators, exhausts, intercoolers and sr t25's to get me there so im happy. ca is a cool little motor it suits the needs just fine :yummy

got the automatic CA for 900
5spd tranny for 100 (~50 for bellhousing from yard)
misc. repair parts 400
clutch and flywheel 300

all in all around 1700-1800 if you do the labor. you can find an SR for that price but probably not with all the parts little parts I put on the CA, so an equivelent SR swap with repair parts would of course be a little more.

CA's are sweet if I ever get my hands on a s13 coupe that's what I'm going for. For s14 definetely an adequate engine just just to much loss in torque for me. KA-T is the way to go if you wanna do a budget turbo install under 2k imo (easily attainable 225whp @ 7psi or so).

Still nice, how much did u save in weight? :thumbsup

i think the number floating around is that the ca is 140lbs lighter than KA, i dont have the ac so im not sure if thats included or an additional 35-40 pounds to take off. but yea definetly lighter, its nice. my KA had 180k miles on it so that wasnt really an option without a rebuild.
