Yup, I'm gonna have to call bullshit on the wing making any bit of difference on your car. I don't think it's high enough to be in the windstream of the car anyway.
It looks plenty high to me.....

Second off, it's an ebay wing most likely, so it wasn't designed for downforce, only ricey looks.
The fact that he got it off ebay doesnt make it rice........and even if it wasn't designed for areodynamics, creating downforce isn't hard, its creating it with out creating tons of drag thats tough........look at the angle he has that wing at, It couldn't help but bite into the wind

Third, if you are in the rain, and you actually had a functional wing, it would help you NOT to hydroplane, not make it worse. Hydroplaning is where your tires basically float above the ground in/on top of the water. Downforce pushes your car DOWN......onto the pavement.......where you have grip.......where you don't hydroplane. Take the damn thing off, it's about as functional as using putting 110 octane gas in a Geo Metro.
Agreed. It prolly makes a bitof downforce, but I doubt he's really using it, just get coil overs and your handling should be great......... and they will allow you to get that wing off (not like yoo couldn't take it off right now, but.....) thus making them the best appearence mod you have ever done as well.........whoo hoo, go coil overs...

wing

going to have to say on the hydroplaning issue water does not compress the harder you press on it the harder it pushs back if the tire cant channel the water a way fast enough, and you press harder with down force all its going to do is lift the car up and hydroplane, another ? how many peaple posting here has played with the wings taken them off and on and adjusted them and had a field day with what they can do, adding coilovers will help a lot with the handling but ifs thats all you need why would nearly every race car have a wing built on to it, you see it in drag to f-1 to gt race cars?

well,

they (race cars) need a wing, thats why they have it, theres no one disputing what they can do, just saying that you dont need one for that yet, i am sure it does help traction at huigh speed, but its like getting iridium plugs over platinums, its really not a big difference, and the trade off is horrendous

ings s15 looks great with a spoiler... just depends on if ur really making use of it or u just slap one on thinking its going to make ur car look better. only reason i see to have a wing is for high speeds and drifting, but even then it should look nice and fit the car... check out ings blue s15!

if aero dynamics and performance is what you are looking for...there are companies that specializes in aero spoilers..seriously, performance wise...im going to be honest and blunt....bs on that spoiler helping with a stock motor....not trying to be mean....

IMO i think the only aluminum wing that looks right is signal auto's black gt wing, but then its like 500+ dollars alone for it... but it looks nice because it actually works... i think... and its not as high and as wide as your wing.....its about as wide as the car is....:p

2 good things have come to me from this topic:
1 - I should paint my rims dark grey, it does look good on Dark Red.
2 - I should not get a wing like that, it looks rediculous and won't make enough difference.

I have one comment, unless you have slicks, your tires will channel the water, especially at over 80mph where the wing will help your grip. But who is crazy enough to go that fast in the rain, even with a stock 240 engine?
