Sup guys, I know this is a 240sx forum but the Z forums doesnt have anything on drifting or KAs. SO heres the deal: I wanted a 240sx but I have an old 280zx ( have pity on me). It has a 2.8 inline6 that only makes about 140hp and the car weighs about 2800lbs(too heavy). So I want more power and was wondering if itll be a good candidate for a KA24DET? Has anyone ever heard of a KA swap into this car? Also I want to drift it, so far Ive ordered Tokico springs and Struts and a set of 15x7 Konig Rewinds. What size tires should i get for drifting? Is this a good direction to go in drifting the car?

EDIT: sorry bout the double post!

sell the 280 to someone who will appreciate it and buy a 240. i'd hate to see a modern classic sportscar wrapped around a pole or in a ditch.

lol well dont worry we aint got ditches in miami. The whole South FL area is 100% flat which is also 100% gay cuz we cant even drift on downhills or anything. Plus all the 240s in my area are in horrible shape AND automatic, i prefer manual.

when it comes to hunting down 13 year old nissans, you just have to be patient.. sell the z and wait it out, sooner or later a decent one will pop up.

seriously dont go to a KA. its got an I-6 in there already if anything swap it for another I-6 either the turbo version of the motor you have now or me personally im looking to RB or maybe VG my 280zx that i have sitting in my driveway. only reason im swapping it is because it needs a new motor anyways. ok im done babbling.

Yeah the VG would be a good a idea, a build KA-T would be good also, it would also weight less than the 2.8 single cam v6 in there. The problem with the 280zx is that is has no aftermarket so everything would have to be custom, so KA-T swap or VG swap would be more praticle, heck even and SR20 maybe

I seggest you just garage the 280z and buy a 240sx(or somthing). Save the restoration/modifing for when you graduate college and/or get a desent paying job. Working on cars is fun, but when shit keeps breaking it gets fustrating. A 280z is a classic whatever you deside to do to it, get it done right.

Yes, 280Z = super classic in my book, of rhymes. I kinda want one, Ill trade you for a S13 hatch with a silvia front, plus it already has a KA24DE in it, needs new valve guides and for boost I would bore it out a cunt hair and shove some good pistons in there, needs some body work and a paint job.

Also, the S chassis only makes around 140hp to wheels and weighs about 2800lbs. Thats stock. As you can see there isnt much difference.
