Mods please move this to where it should be posted, I pulled this off another forum. Didn't find in search so I'm posting it.

"Looks like our buddies at Nissan have put the SR20DET to rest, and have decided to go with an SR20VET! 280 Horses seem to be powering this bad boy, but we won't know real figures until it hits the market. Hopefully with the new engine, Nissan has also gotten emissions to a level where they can sell this bad boy here in North America!"

don't think they'll continue the Silvia........cost too much. There won't be one here in the U.S. either. If the car has a 280HP engine it would be faster than a 350Z and don't think they wanted that. Also anyone with $24000 would probably get a WRX cause of the AWD. Not going to happen........

From the news and rumors i heard they are discontinuing the production of the the siliva. I thought that 2002 or 2003 would be the last year of production. Best motoring even did a special on it for becomming discontinue. I might be wrong, but thats what i heard so far.

Sorry to say that the SR20V isn't something brand new. These came on the Primera P11 and P12s, and that specific VET with 280 HP is in the JDM X-trail GT SUV.

you know those old R35 pics where it looked all futuristic. have you ever looked at those pics and the infiniti G35 coupe side by side its the same. i know that the G35 is a skyline in japan. so we finally get one but its not the same, figures you know:rolleyes:

but i'm sure if that is released then they will change the style. like they did with the skyline v35/g35

yeah, those were circulating like a year after the R34 was released or so. its just a photoshopped R34. that "S16" picture is old too, over a year.

what i mean to say it that those pics are the early stages of what has become the infiniti g35 coupe / v35 skyline. if you look at the g35 and that concept, you see that the body lines are similar.

I just noticed that pick of the s16 like a week ago. Did some research and supposedly its an artists impression of the s16 and its a combination of the G35 bodylines and a some renault front end (dont kno what thou). Its disapointing to hear that they are dealing away with the SR as well. The truth is that the R34, s14, s15 are the last of their kind :tears .
This is due in part of emition standards, the release of the 350z, and nissan-renault deals.
