Why would you bother with all of the effort of blocking off intersections, making sure no cops are in the area, and etc.? That's way too much effort. Just go to a drag strip, plain and simple. Two seconds of google.com will tell you where they are all located by you.
Do you have any idea what goes into a drift event? You first need to find a really big place to do it (not a regular best buy parking lot, something very big). Then you have to pass it by the owner(s) of the parking lot and get a legal writ with them verifying it is okay to use their parking lot. Then you have to go to city council meetings to pass this through your local city and judge to be able to hold the event. Once you have that you need the event to be insured to have it happen. You need literally, over a million dollars of insurance to hold a drift event. To help pay for that kind of insurance you need a sanctioining body. Good luck with that because almost none are willing to help. I was trying to get NASA grip who sponsors local drift events and they weren't willing to help me. There are several bodies but you have to put together a very good package/kit to present to them on why they should sanction you. Much less it is difficult to just get returned phone calls because they get these kinds of messages CONSTANTLY. If you somehow manage to get sanctioning bodies you will still want sponsors so you can break even on the cost of the event. The sponsors will bring tire mounting, changing, balancing equipment and more. Afterthat you need people to come to your event. Before you let anyone register you have to put together a contract and registration form. After you spend a lot of money with a lawyer who helps you write the insurance waiver you can come up with a cost for the event and hope enough people register so you can break even. You can't base the price of the event by the number of people attending, it doesn't work like that. Tell me if you still want to organize a drift event.
