Hey, my car revs slow sometimes and spools as if i were accelerating pretty hard. The car only does this sometimes and has done it 3 times. Ive read that it can be the cas but would like to know what else to check.

Thanks,
Will

that still doesn't make sense. to spool the turbo you need to flow exhaust, the faster the exhaust flows the faster it spools. exhaust velocity would be directly proportional to how much air the car is taking in. so how can you be going up the rpm's slowly, but your turbo is behaving like they're going up quickly?

have you checked your timing? and what type of engine management are you using?

im with joel, boost leak issue

Boost leak would make it harder too spool, wouldnt it? I remember when my car had a leaky injector. Revved piss slow and seemed to spool quick, only because your giving it more Throttle to increase the rpm. What hes talking about seems to be alot of load for the rpm making the turbo spool earlier than it seems.

Would it be the cas? Or now could it also be linked to a leaky injector? I know the car has a boost leak because Ive seen the hole in the intercooler. I floor the car and it feels like im pulling a boat but also spools rather loud and quick.

i only used the leaky injector as an example of what the car was like when running that rich. Fix the IC leak and check the Exhaust for leaks. When my Turbo became loose from the manifold a while back, it would bog like crazy when trying to boost. Does your car run alright without boost? Do you smell any gas at idle or low throttle driving?

Well even at low throttle without any boost it will backfire a little. That can be caused by the bov to atmosphere though. It does smell like gas at idle and also when in reverse with the windows down I can smell the gas as I go back.
