installing a hybrid fmic. took off the stock IC piping and there is this hose that is connected to the wastegate to the IC piping. on the hybrid piping there is nothing i can connect this wastegate hose to. were does this wastegate hose go to now?? also for all u owners or people who juss know about redtop s13 puttin in a hybrid fmic. what is the best way to make the damn IC fit. cut the whole bumper support off or juss cut little slots where it gets stuck and try to play a guessing game.

if there's no nipple, you are going to have to either get a nipple welded on or tap into the nipples on the throttle body. I had one free that I used for my boost gauge, but it should all work with some tees as long as vacuum pressure is reaching the wg.

As for fitment, I plan on cutting the bumper support until it fits (S14). I am going to install it one day so I can still drive it just with no bumoer/support, and then spend a day modifying the support so it fits. Some people just cut the supports' middle out so the intercooler gets more flow and to avoid the cut and guess game. Good luck, and post up what you did since my hybrid kit comes next week.

about the waste gate hose so i can tee it off any vacuum line that is connected to the throttle body??

Drill a hole right there (see picture below) and get a nipple and put it through the inside going outward (so the nut part is inside the piping and the nipple is going through the piping, this way the nipple cannot "blow" out due to turbo pressure) and then JB Weld it in (JB Weld is just going to seal it and keep the nipple from moving NOT from blowing out so I guess you could use high temp silicone or some sealer like that).
This setup worked for me (although the JB Weld needs some fixed/repair about every month but no biggie)

Second from top is what mine looked like.

This ^^ is the simplest way and cheapest way.
I got a different hotpipe so I just took a nipple down to the local muffler shop and had them weld it for ~$10, but all I could find was a brass fitting and it basically exploded when it was welded so I had to use alittle JB Weld to seal some small holes.

As far as intercooler fitting....it doesnt haha.
I had to cut my bumper up quite a bit. As you can see, I only have about 2" of bottom lip left.

and the intercooler goes to where that little bar is under the bumper opening (if you have the silvia front end) and it does hang about 1/2 and inch below the stock bumper cover but you cant see it unless you get on the ground like this.

The actual metal bumper needs to be significantly knotched

what is that piece of metal and has wires connected to it? its bolted on at the bottom of the middle peice in front of the radiator you have to take off enabling the intercooler to be in place. its like a flat round thing the has some wires connnected to it.

The middle piece is the hood latch....but the wires that are going from that over the radiator are going to the horn. I just moved there to get out of the way of working, but mounted them on the outside of the light brackets..I dont know if the USDM light brackets will allow you to keep the horns where they are, but it is an easy fix to move them....I think thats what your talking about...

no no i know wut the hood latch is haha. im talking about the middle bracket under the hood latch. and bolted on to the bottom of that middle bracket is this round circular thing that has a connection with wires. it looks like a magnet to me for some reason.

I still have no idea of what your talking about. Maybe this picture will help or you could circle the part that your talking about...

The horn? :12dunno I know I had to move mine in order to run a FMIC setup on my S14.

:rotflmao

thats some ghetto shit.

But yes you can tee off the throttle body. I would try to keep the wastegate line as unmolested as possible though since it is pretty vital in regards to boost pressure but I'm just anal. But you could have it tee off to a BOV or whatever and your wastegate should still function fine.

LOL on the JB weld nipple idea. I don't know if I want to hack into the beautiful hybrid pipes and continuously add JB weld every month or so but I guess it should work fine. What about getting a steel fuel line piece and using that as a nipple welded on...that won't explode.

i believe he is talking about the ambient temperture sensor or something like that....deals with ac i believe...

Edit: yea it's an ambient switch that deals with ac/heater fuction...sits where the hood latch is
yes exactly. so since the bracket that that wasnt holding on to it isnt goin to be there. do i juss mount it up somewhere else or can i juss get rid of it?? also wen i was taking the stock IC piping off ive noticed that there was a really really thin layer of oil. is this normal?? am i going to need the bumper support?? if i just cut it off will the bumper be really loose and shake alot?? more airflow to the intercooler would be nice. thx guys

Yes, a little bit of oil in the intake is normal (and in the intercooler pipes). Just notch the bumper because if you get into a slight fender bender, you wont kill your FMIC of if your drifting and nudge another car, your intercooler wont take all the force. If you think about it, without the metal bumper, its just like driving with no bumper or bumper cover if you get into a fender an accident.
