You can't get the S15 here in the States, the body lines are different, the headlights are way different, the interior is completely different, the engines in the S15 are rated with more horsepower and they have a 6 speed transmission.

There is an upside to the movie, it will drive the value of 240's up.
If drift135 allows it I would really like to go off on you for that...

dude think of the 240 enthusiast who's been down on his luck finding a deal for a 240. :tears I noticed Raine is selling his car on autotrader.com. Dude wants 8,500 for it!!! It's a stock engine and the dude wants $8,500!!! :crazyrant

Feel free, I can almost guarantee I have been flamed by better people for less.:rotflmao
Finding an unmolested, unhacked 240 may be worth the $8500 that person is asking to some more discriminating buyer. Anything will only bring what the market will bear (it's a basic capitalism principle). If in the future because of some Hollywood B.S., some marque of car sees an increase in value that's a bad thing?

Well Raine's is far from unmolested. He's done sufficient amount of mods to it, he just hasn't touched the engine bay much. Though his car has 200k+ miles. He was/is a huge fan of touge as that was the main purpose for his s14 I believe.

Plain and simple these cars aren't worth anywhere near that price. Kouki's maybe, seeing as how rare they are, especially 5 spd ones. The movie hasn't bumped the prices up in my area (though I've seen a coupel dealerships advertising with "Tokyo Drift Ready") since all 240 prices were considerably high from the get go.

if you think a stock unmolested 240 is worth 8k, would you like to buy my non-stock 240sx? ill sell it for 10k flat, in perfect condition
I'm not your huckleberry sorry to disappoint, but two things.
1) I already own a 240 (purchased w/ 93K for 3K- bone stock)
2) No offense, really prefer to modify my own stuff, then I know exactly what I have.
In addition, when said crack addict who has priced something WAAAYYY out of reality they will eventually put down the pipe and adjust the price to what the market will actually bear (there's that pesky capitalism thing again)

Well, the KBB price for a S14 with the average miles and in excellent condition is around $8600, maybe less.

Def. not avg. $8,600. I chose a cali zip code (91344), left them automatic, chose the typical mileage suggested, and only added the rear spoiler option (did this to both). These are fair prices, a little low on the kouki's, but fair. Before the movie was even close to coming out the only time I remember seeing these prices as the norm was a year and half to two years ago.

AHHH I found the source of your bitterness!!
This was taken from the "Do you own a 240" thread
1.Do you own a 240?

Sadly no. Cali prices are raping folks up the ying yang on 240s. Not right
:tears
You could always buy a car elsewhere and have it shipped to you.
That's how I bought my Galant VR4 I just sold.

^ yup, that's it. I was unlucky at the time I decided to take on the quest for a 240sx. I didn't know much about drifting, so that basically screwed me over. Though I have considered the shipping of an out of state car, I think I might take that option seriously now.

Oh and I think the reason behind the original thread starter's question is because he might be considering buying an s14 and do the whole s15 conversion blah blah blah to it. If that's the case, you can stick the front from the s15 on the s14 with ease. It's the rear that's a totally custom job and it looks like ass.
