Not hating on anybody but my 96 V8 explorer Stock 400 pound system in the back can beat my 96 240sx with an intake but my 240 is an auto for now so ehh. Don't get me wrong I love my 240 more but its not THAT fast. Its fast thought I know what you mean but nothing to suprising. To me the 240sx is more of a DAMN!!! My 240sx Can outhandle your NSX!!! lol

Anyways so how much would it cost for the whole parts + install of a manual on my 96?? I know you guys say I should just do it myself, but as of now I hardly have time and all my tools are being barrowed by like 10 different people. Any one here in SoCal willing to do it for me if I get the parts, and if yes how much??:thumbsup

Stock 240s are very slow. You dont have a concept of speed yet or something. If anyone needs a S14 MT speed sensor, let me know, I wound up with an extra one.
off topic: im interensted in the s14 speed sensor. pm me, becasue your inbox is fun and i cant pm you.

anyways, people think a car is fast because of top speed, but thats just one aspect of "fast". acceleration is another. and the ka has slow acceleration, which makes it slowish

I have a different question now. I think I have found all the parts I need for my swap. reason being is because my friend is selling his 240sx coupe with a newer ka swaped engine in it. The car is manual and he is selling it for $1000 and I think I can get it for less. My girl friend wants a bigginer beater car and well she is thinking about buying this one. She dosn't know how to drive and even more manual. So I was thinking would it be a good idea to just swap my auto into her coupe and her manual into my zenki??

I got all my parts for $500, installed it myself...spending maybe $50 on tools and grease and gear oil. Its really easy.

as silviaks2nr said, here is my writeup with pics.

Swapping in an AUTO will be a big PITA, there are no writeups for it and it is much much much much more technical and wirey (if possible at all). teach her to drive a stick.

first off why would you want to swap an auto into a manual car?
and second why cant she learn to drive stick?
swap cars but dont swap transmissions, there is more to it going from mt to auto than just the trans; practicaly the whole car has to be swapped (wiring sucks).

Yea I guess I didn't think about all the wireing. And I would put an auto in a manual because she dosn't know how to even drive auto, now manual?? Yea she isn't much up to learning how to drive manual.

Hahaha trust me if she didn't mind thats what she would be using right now. But oh well I guess I'll search for some other beater car for now thats auto. (good thing she wants a cheap car to start off with)

for everyone saying that they've done swaps for $500-700 is that for an S14, or S13? I can't even find an S14 trans here in town for less then $250, let alone a drive shaft, and everything else.
then put in an s13 tranny if you don't care about your CEL going off.

s13 tranny = no Crankshaft position sensor (CPS)
s14 tranny = CPS

not a big deal, but if you're anal, then get an s14 tranny

I just swap my AT to MT last week, and I spend around $520. The tranny costed me 250, clutch around 90, flywheel 62, and the driveshaft 40. Plus the pedal assembly, the clutch master cylinder, conections, etc.. but I bought that at the yunk yard. The installations isn't so hard, I did it myself, and i'm actually a newbie. The only thing is the wiring. Everything else, is a piece of cake
