if you cant weld dont even try it, a welder will be your best friend from now on. you also need a lot of electronic/wire diagram knowledge to incorporate the attesa to really make a difference, you need the rear pumkin, the whole drive terrain basically and not to mention the tranny will need some clever tweaking as far as placement goes because that thing is huge.

you might have to "stretch" the area where the bellhousing will end up to accomidate room for it. its definatelly possible and i would do it in a heart beat if i had the engine/drive terrain available. its definatelly possible, but you need to be damn good at coming up with clever ideas on how to modify the subframes and do the front suspession.

wow--- nice link man--- inspiring--well i wish everyone that was dickin the project before--about how it cant be done and how it was a stupid idea can see this link!!!!

just because that link was posted doesn't mean its not a stupid idea. it's been done yes. so has many other things like 4X4 camaros and stuff like that it doesn't mean it's a good idea. what would be the point to this? seriously for the price and the work just buy a r32. if you really want to spend that much time and money into something that isn't worth it at all be my guest.

i think it was overrev.net or .com that had that awds14 (kouki) and basically anyone can legalize their own greymarket car... if your not a business your price ranges from 3k min to 10k max in california

Should you do it?....sure if you want to...it should not matter what others think

Can you buy a US legal Skyline?...Yes, if you are serious about it they are out there, but dont ask people to do your work

I think a real problem with this is that if you are so serious about doing it, then maybe your approach should be alot more serious. It would make alot more sense for you to be calling people who have undertaken this project, posting on skyline boards to figure out the awd system, etc...

I dont mean to question you, but I have seen this same thread started by someone with the same tag on other boards with the same results. I really do hope that you build the car, but starting threads like this will not bring the people in to help you with the technical background. For that to happen you need to show them that you are serious and someone that they would want to work with.

So again, I apologize if this is off base and dont mean to question your motivation. I hope that you follow some of my advice and build it.

Good luck

careful planning, an appropriate budget, and reasonable time frame is key.
we've done big projects with short time frames and they are definitly not fun. the out come is not 100% even if on the surface it may seem so.

just face it man....unless you got the cash and resources to do this swap... your just not getttin it done. take it from me im all about being unique and doing something tha nobody has but u also have to sit back and realize that theres a reason why everybodys not doing that swap. that guy that did the rb26dett in that link also did his shit at a shop he works at and as you can see he basically welded the entire car together from scrap which is also VERY unsafe!! i think it would be in your best interest to take into consideration what really needs to be done and in the end, was it really worth the hassle and all the $$$$$ ??

where in that thread did you see scrap? the welding of the underbody? that wasnt scrap, he stitch welded the entire chassis and riveted every seam on top of that, no scrap and very very safe... what are you talking about?

I think hes posting this out of his ass..

lol @ noobs. on a side note i noticed ghost racing asking for a rb26-rb25 setup so i take it you're abandoning the awd theory?

Like someone else mentioned, using a tube frame/ chassis to start off would be better. And just use bits and pieces of the 240sx body or something. I don't know...just an idea.
