you named two very different and far ends. you said you were either using a turbo way tooo small for the ka or the "gt42" you already have. thus we assumed since you bought it you were using that massive turbo.

just pick up a sr turbo for 100$ somewhere and call it a day.
thats a good idea, i didnt think they were that cheap. any good places to find them other than ebay?

come to think of it, i think my friend nic has one. he said he bought a nissan turbo off ebay a long time ago. i'll have to find out what it is. maybe i'll snag it cheap :dancingco

please show me where i said i planned on using one? i said i was probably using a T3, but POSSIBLY doing something bigger such as an hx35 or "gt42" it was just an example because ive got it laying around. to tell you the truth that turbo is for sale.
bojangles summed it up for me. You said you were possibly going to use a GT42, and then said you had already bought one, showing pictures of what we proved to you is NOT a GT42. Why buy a turbo if you don't plan to use it anyway? As I already stated, you're a 17 year old kid with big dreams, and a small wallet. Keep on saving.

We've all been there already and all have had our own projects; we're speaking from experience of what it's like to try projects on a budget.. They usualy end in massive failure.

No, we're against ghetto projects that are going to fail. Budget properly, but do it wisely. Buy quality parts and go from there. Do it right the first time around, so you don't have to do it again.
I mean hey, if you're able to pull it off, nice, congrats. I'm not too optomistic when I see budget projects like that though.. Especially when you are convinced that turbo was a GT42.

MKIV Supra pumps are good too. DSM injectors work on the E, of course Evo injectors do, as do RX7 injectors. There ARE parts you can pick up at the junk yard, but some stuff should just not be done cheaply.

nope absolutely not. on the contrary great things can be found in junkyards. hell you can pull and wire mkIII supra's fuel pumps and they are just as efficient as the walbro 255 if not more.

hx35's can only be found in junkyards and they are awesome for the ka size wise.
i know what you mean, i'd LOVE an hx35 but alas. i havent found any turbodiesel dodge trucks at our local yard. any idea what years they came on?

and a side note on finding awesome shit in junkyards. i got front and rear infinity Kappa Perfects in EXCELLENT condition in a ford probe at the junkyard. got them all for $20 bucks. they sound amazing in my coupe

they come on Cummins Turbo motors. They were only in Dodge's 5.7 ltr diesel, and 6.0 diesel, but they had tons of different compressor housing sizes from 12cm to 19 cm and then there is the hy35 which had another larger range.

Ideally you should try and find a HX35 from 12 to 14 cm to match well... the others will be a bit too large. Do some searching and you can find out the differences and how to spot the one you want. also larger up diesel trucks (dump trucks, tractors, semi's etc) came with those turbos.

hey guys thanks for clearin up the GT42 thing, my buddy (longgrain) bought it thinking id run it on my truck (94 s10 with a 355) but alas, i didnt feel like spending any more money just to run boost. I bought it from him anyway and its for sale, I think I'm going to research some supra sites to sell it on. so back to question #1, where can we get the manifold piping that one guy on here was talkin about? i have a welder, just i dont know where i can get my hands on manifold tubing for building our manifolds.

forgot to mention, were buying 2 240's both have E's and both are gettin boosted right away :gaylaugh

wow that turbo you posted pics of a while ago must have been from a 18 wheeler or somthing.

ok heres the name of the game, go to the junk yard and find stuff thats justyard worthy. like some one said above, fuel pump, injectors or a SMIC. i wouldnt use a turbo that you found sitting on a frame in the back of some ******** junkyard. who knows how many miles its been rained on.

i got a 01 skyline fuel pump off ebay for $25. i also got rx7 460cc injectors off ebay for $25 all shipped to my door. so ebay is your online junk yard. search there often, but dont jump on every good deal you can find, just wait for the good product at the good price.

and your not fooling any one with your lies so stop
