guy posted time slips running a 14.8 n/a and over on club240.com i believe, a guy dynoed 200 hp with n/a mods.
That guy was making 200hp at the CRANK. You guys got me excited because I thought it was at the wheels. 200hp is pretty good for $800, I guess, but after that, there's a glass ceiling. Pandas14 was at 180 before he went turbo. :devilfork

Yeah, I remember Steve Kovak. Not only he is running nitrous, but he has also that car dialed in like no other.

Not saying KA's are silly truck engines, but you can build a turbo setup for $800 and make more hp than n/a.

bmoses is running 14's with his N/A KA.

Here's my list
HKS cat back, no cat, header, ASP pulley, light flywheel, JWT clutch, no emissions, thermospacers on intake, coolant passages around intake defeated, super short custom intake from original battery tray location, mechanical fan removed, 248/248 cams with intake came retarded by about 3.1 teeth, probably a couple other things I can't think right off the bat.

I pulled a:
14.827 @ 91.45
14.828 @ 90.90
14.880 @ 91.72
14.885 @ 91.45

Are these numbers about right? I feel like I could certainly have shaved a few 10th's with an LSD. I have an open diff and street tires.

Thanks!

you've got think though, that 200HP at the crank is what some guys pay $2500+ to have an SR20, right? haha

Best intake for the KA that involves looking like a CAI (which does kinda work, but only if it truly pulls in air that is cooler than what your stock intake plumbing pulls in).....hm.....I know I've posted this before, but I didn't see it either when I searched....

So I'll post this AGAIN.
Move your battery to the trunk/hatch area.
Cut a hole in the battery tray that is big enough for a 3" cold pipe from a FMIC kit or use PVC/thick rubber 3" hosing.
Pick up a cone filter, or use your stock airbox as the intake filter.
Use your imagination for the rest.
It'll improve throttle response as well as get rid of 2-3 ft of useless intake.

The Injen CAI is dumb. It makes like....5-6 ft of intake plumbing just to get slightly cooler air into th engine....and it'll cost you upwards of $200....lame.

Btw, if you had searched the AL thread, you would've probably seen my post about this in there as well...but since that thread is so long, I understand.. And don't bash on that thread. A number of the guys in there are far more knowledgable than the majority of people on this forum.

don't listen to these people, the best way to make a super performance intake is to route your exhaust into your intake, its like natural n02. All that unburnt fuel will be ignited again :)

im sorry but this has got to be the lamest thread out there....

ha i agree it was a simple question but it kinda got outta hand i think im going to start a thread saying whats the best color for your 240 is... jk

There is only one idiot here buddy and I will give you three guesses at who I am talking about. Did you not read this earlier in the thread, "When PVC heats up, it releases HCl fumes which you wouldn't want in your engine."

Read before you respond.:nono
Yeah, if you use regular white PVC. You need to use the Hard Plastic black PVC, also known as ABS PVC. This has an extremely high temperature threshold before HCI fumes are emitted and is extremely durable compared to the standard white PVC. This is pretty much the same material used in K&N intake systems and many newer vehicles use hard plastic for even the intake manifold. You can quote idiots like yourself and others all you want, it won't deter me from what I know from first hand experience that works.
