05 neon srt-4

Those srt-4 's are pretty quick i raced one on the highway from a 50mph roll with my 00 z28 (stock to the filter). I think he might of been juicing becuz he pulled about a car length ahead of be until about 90-95 mph and then i passed him . We raced 4 times with the same result but i was impressed on how fast they where with just a few bolt ons

The one thing I have noticed and read about all Dodge cars though (including the Viper) is there transmissions are very poor and you will most likely encounter several problems with the transmission. They have improved them, but thus being the reason why there Dodge trucks (even though they were probably the strongest ones on the market) were so cheap in 1999 or 2000. I don't have one myself but from what I have heard from friends, gears on the tranny eventually just become a wheel and have no actual rivets or marks of gears because they burn up so easily.

But hey 14.1 for around $20k, thats some bang for the buck.

i saw the guy today and i found out that he was not spraying but he has headers/intake/catback exhaust and claims he runs around 13.8 in 1/4 mile.I think if my z28 was 6 speed i would have left him cuz my auto has sucky reaction time almost half a second

Dont Vipers have T-56s? If Im not mistaken they come in many high performance autos, and are swaped into many other cars. Wow, the T-56 must REALLY suck...

I HATE DODGE !! and even if the new neon is fast , who cares your still going fast in a NEON . Every time I think of those cars I remember the days when they 1st came out and think......HI.

That is correct, the viper uses a T56 transmission. It's a pretty indestructable transmission if you ask me. You've already got an 8 liter (for the older ones) V10 and some guys are putting bolt ons + a 200 shot on them and the trans is holding.

I don't know what the other guy was talking about, but a T56 transmission is like a sore pecker, it's hard to beat.

Yeah, and i would too- if i just wanted to spin my wheels all day- then be jerked around by all of the torque steer.. only to find out that i roasted my shitty BFG tires to smitherines. But hey- mopar + neons is awesome right?

Well u shouldn't be spinning your tires all day especially since in 04' a Quaife LSD and same sized but stickier BFG KDWS were added. The whole torque steer part, well wouldn't any FWD car with gobs of torque and a shitty suspension setup have torque steer? You're acting as if there isn't another car on the market that doesn't have it's downsides. Anyways, the SRT4 definetely owns the Best Bang for Buck market especially when all you really need is to perform 3 things on this car to make it kick ass. First more power, Mopar's State 1 and tage 2 kits are cheap and install in hours (oh and there's a Stage 3 on the way too, capable of achieving 314whp on pump gas and 369whp on 100 octane), Second the suspension, oh and guess what Mopar also has coilovers. Stiffer shocks and bars and bigger performance tires are what the car most definetely needs. Third, just a personal thing, but that wing has to go (even though Dodge has said it's functional).

Yeah, they are really quick, my brother and i went out to test drive one cuz his friend works at the dodge dealership. So i took his car and he test drove the SRT-4 with his friend, then we raced. My brothers car is a 1990 Eclipse GS-T pretty well modified. Needless to say i owned him, but i was still quite impressed by the speed of them. My brothers car runs low 13's i knew the SRT wasnt gonna be able to keep up! :eek3dance

Ive seen one do 13.9, Ive seen the same one get KILLED by my friends 16G talon before any major mods.

People in my area think they are the fastest things on 2 wheels, a guy I work with has one with an Intake and 3" exhaust turbo back, he told me he cant wait til I get my Rb in so he can hand me my ass,, I didnt say a word.

I would take one sure, But I would rather buy a 350 for the same money (roughly 22K) or I dont know a Supra,, but Im content with my S14

Plus I think they look like complete shit.

SRT4 has no torque steer. no one researches anymore do they?
theirs more to the world than just nissans ppl.

SRT4 has equal length drive axles so equal power is put to each wheel. however because of this the turning radius is close to that of a SWAT van
