In the process of doing a conversion that some of you might have seen before. But I have run into a snag, I have all of the parts except the front bumper that is used. I need some help trying to figure out what front bumper this is from. Thanks all and I'll post updated pics of this conversion once it goes under way but I need this bumper before I can start.

Will do. I'm planing on a full write up on this but I need the bumper before I can start. I need it to be able to line up the hood, lights, and fenders. I just got done painting the engine bay yesterday and plan on finishing this front end by next weekend if possible. Just one bumper short and trust me I've tried lookign for it.

I'm almost 100% sure that is the G-nose, but it's the fiberglass version. The reason I say that is because originally it had the metal bumper rail over top of it. Now there is a new version of the G-nose that comes in all fiberglass that eliminates the metal exterior bumper rail. I believe it was on the 78'. I hope this helps and good luck with the build.

I've got a 91 hatch to answer your last question. I looked at the G-nose for the 78's and it came close but the side vents inner support is different and the amount of lip is different but I will look at it again. Thanks. Here is a another pic of a front end style that I was considering and still I'm if I cant figure this bumper out.

those (the blue, white, red etc ones) were actually a very very limited production (less than 100 made) kit from a company out in j-land a long time ago. pretty much, you are going to have to custom make it fit/make a one off. some i want to do! if you get it working, please post pics !

I love this conversion but it does look a little long. I know it would take some serious modification, but is there anyway from looking at the stuff you've got, to cut the fenders down to size, to get a more original size ratio between the front tire, and the front bumper area.

look at this modded original z to see what I mean

In response to the last question about it being long. I noticed this as well and realized that something could be done to fix this. I just got done painting the engine bay so I will start to add the body panels on for this conversion and you will see what I have done to correct this. I could not make it as narrow as the original Z due to the set length of the 240 and where the rad core support sits. I have it set up so that it will work with a stock 240 hood and modified 240 fenders, with a custom front bumper and grill. Hopefully I will have pics soon; I had to register for class so funds got very low really quick.

just so u can get an idea of work ur about to get into.. this may sound crazy.. but get 2 1:24th scale models and try the front end conversion on those.. and it will give u an idea of how u will make the stuff line up.. the more u alter the factory Z fender line the more it will look like ass!

Sorry guys for the late update I've been busy with life issues...But anyways I'll get some pictures up this comning saturday of my progress that I have made and personally I think it looks as if its coming along quite nice. I had to take some time to finish up the motor rebuild and the refinishing of the engine bay. If I can get a strong enough wireless conection tonight from my neighbor then I'll post them later tonight, darn router went out on me this weekend....:crazyrant
