yes you are looking for the fastback 89-90 sun roof latch. they come on some nissan pickups with the SOHC also. i need one my self and usualy go for around $40 on ebay. a bungie cord works ok also. at the dealer they wat somthing like $60 i think

 

So, the 91-93 fastback sunroofs are different if I'm understanding you correctly? Among the pieces I got from the other memeber, he sent along his interior latch/handle assembly, which didn't look anything like mine which is what got me to start thinking.

edit: or are you talking about the interior latch assembly, as a whole?

HERE'S MINE from the inside since I already have one from the outside up at the top.

So at first I thought that hunting down the correct hardware would be very difficult, then a moment of horror struck me: What if this was a custom installed sunroof??? I'm really hoping that it's not...Dopeassjackson...you have a pm, please tell me you have the same setup...

 

I'm in Connecticut, Storrs, you can come sometime and nab my sunroof assembly for like $20 if you want and or need.

 

Thanks for the offer, unfortunately I'm in ROchester, NY for college right now. I just left UCONN actually Sunday (I was there for the weekend). Unless your sunroof assembly looks like mine, I don't think that I would be able to use your setup. Thanks anyways though.

m not a sunroof expert or anything but i have owned two s13 f/b's, one in japan and one that i own now. the non-sunroof f/b has the dome light where your pic is. and the car i have now has a sunroof with the dome light further back (a lot further back).

The dome light placement is EXACTLY what got me to thinking about it. Hopefully dopeassjackson will reply soon with good news...I'm REALLY hoping that this isn't a custom install.

well, if it's not 100% the same, I guess we can both say we have aftermarket sunroofs. I'm not really sure how to feel about this...look out for another thread soon about what to do about this situation...I'm considering having sheet metal welded to the roof and the sunroof taken out. Then all I would need is a non-cut up headliner, correct?

 

my 90 sun roof came stock and dosent have that kind of latch.^ there must be two difrent sun roof modles. what does your car have? i got pw, pl(that dont work) cruise

 

the latch is different... the dome light is from a non-sunroof fastback and remember that sunroof fastbacks have a different dome light and it sits further back and if you look at the type of glass its perfectly clear instead of the tinted glass with the brackets and mounts for the privacy cover

 

fyi, there are two type of moonroofs. the LE had a longer and wider sunroof while the other sunroofs, se model, had short smaller sunroofs...

if your sunroof/moonroof latch says skymate, you have the se sunroof. if you have headrest in your 240sx, your moonroof/sunroof is moste likely the bigger type.

 

Your sunroof and domelight look like mine, but I know for fact mine was replaced by the previous owner with an aftermarket sunroof becuase the stock one flew out at the track(plus, he left the user manual for the aftermarket one in the glovebox). Does the latch have a small red button in the center of it?

 

a good way to check if its OEM, is the sunroof mounting up front stamped into the roof, or is in the roof frame?

Thanks for the bumps fellas...I don't know, I've given up caring about it. I've got my dream car and I'm not going to let this get to me. I'm just going to get two bolts/nuts/rubber washers and attach it that way, and worry about the fact the car has half an engine, a few spots of rust/rot to repair, etc.

My latch does not have a red button on it.
