92 240sx with 96 KA24DE

Hi all

I recently put a KA24DE from a 96 240 in my car because my 92 ka went out.

I was told that to make the swap I would need to swap over basically everything, main things including the 92 intake manifold, the 92 exhaust manifold and the 92 distributor, which I did.

The car runs, but it doesn't idle. The problem was identified as being a vacuum leak of some sort from in between the intake manifold and the head itself. I recently installed a new gasket, but that didn't seem to do the trick.

Maybe the problem is that I have the wrong gasket? I am using a gasket for a 96, maybe it's different? I thought the intake ports were pretty much identical.

Any other reason air would be able to get into that area? everything is definitely torqued properly, all bolts in place

i recently did a 95 into a 91 and i cant get mine to idle either. do you still have the egr on or no?
EGR system is out of the car at the moment, but it has the delete plate so I don't have to deal with that. I had the car at the shop because I could not figure out what was wrong and they said its definitely in between the head and the intake manifold :\
just a stupid question on its leak location(close to the back of the intake cyl 4 area???)

just askin because it says 1992 intake. emmisions n all that jazz removed. did u remove the butterfly valve? and if so is the hole sealed?

i have a 1995 in a 1993. the difference in intakes is the butterflys and sensors.(thats it)

well huh. I didn't do the system removal so I'm not sure. Maybe its not sealed up? where exactly is this, that could be the problem. Its somewhere in the back of the motor area yea near 4
its kinda under the fpr(Very hard to see. ill snap a pic of it cause my motor is out...afk a min)

forgot my intake isnt here... lol but just start it and put ur hand back there. u will feel it.
huh I'll have to take a look. How do you seal it off? I imagine it should be sealed because it drove fine before the 96 head/block went in
i used rtv...(nothing special...) but i did it while the intake was out of the car.

just as a odd question. if that isnt it.
did u check to make sure the deck was level? and when u cleaned it to put this intake on. did u leave a TINY piece on the intake/head or scratch either causing this leak?
I'm going to pull the intake manfiold off tomorrow and look. I didn't check, I just assumed it was because it came out of a running car. I'll look and see
