Hello everyone. I have a question and I can't seem to find the answer on google after two hours of searching.

Here is the situation.

I have 89 coupe with ka24e, with JDM gauge for an SR. So obviously the tech doesn't work[hince the dohc and sohc difference in signal]

and because I've wnated to do a SR or engine upgrade later, I am leaving the gauge cluster in the car and I went a head and bought me a 52mm RPM gauge.

Instructions are telling me to hook up the signal wire to the negative side of the ignition coil. Well...there are two wires going into the ignition coil harness.

So, which one do I hooks up my gauge to? i don't want to do the trial and error because if I get the wrong wire, then I am going to have all spliced up wire and have a mess behind. Totally do not want.

So......which one do I hook it up to?

Thanks ya'll.

2 ways to figure this out...

1: Look at the FSM schematics

or

2: grab a volt meter and see which wire goes to ground
