Air fuel gauge into s13 cluster

i did a little modification and added an aem wideband into were the stock temp gauge was located since thats the reason why my head gasket popped, was wondering if its a problem to cut a little of the white plastic on the back of the cluster were the blue sheet is, i just need a little room for the wires coming out of the gauge, i will post a pic of the setup im trying to do, thanks
