We'll definitely need pictures of that. lol
My s13 and my mk3, S13 is undergoing bodywork for paint currently. The supra on Ecumaster Standalone, full fuel system, other supporting modifications, pulled its engine to build bottom end for the new 72mm turbo.

Very nice, it's cool to see a diverse set of vehicles driven by one person. There's a 4Runner very similar to yours that runs around up here. Are you in the Upper Midwest?

I am in New England. I sold the 4runner a while back that photo is from 2020 I believe. It was nice though I'd like to find another one like it.

Hi Everyone,

I'm new to the forum. Currently own a 2004 350z that I'm in the process of putting all my shiny parts I've been hoarding over the years on so I can sell it. The plan is to jump ship from the z chassis and go over to the S chassis. I'm also doing things a little out of order but I'm building a motor to drop into a shell prior to buying the shell lol. I figured this sight would be a good place to pick up some knowledge and, once I'm ready to buy, find a shell to drop my motor into so I can go do cool sideways skid hoodlum stuff with my friends.

I've actually recommended people starting out to go to the z chassis. S chassis have gotten insane with their pricing.
I just saw a pretty good condition S13 coupe with like 110k miles on the original ka and auto trans listed for 12k.
Obviously 10 years ago that was like 4 grand.

The 03-08 350z is now what the 240sx used to be.
You can get the Z's pretty cheap, oem parts from partouts/junkyards are still affordable, and it has a good aftermarket.

I'm committed to the S chassis because i'm way too deep at this point.
If I had to start from scratch, I'd go Z.
Even back when I first started out, I loved the Z32, but I literally never found a good candidate.
It was either a decent condition car for 15k or a total project for 3-4k.

It’s not that I don’t like my Z but I’m ready to move onto something different and I’ve always liked the styling of the older 240s. I actually used my Z for a daily for a couple years before I bought my ranger and it was a blast to zip around in. I thought it was going to be a forever car so I’ve put almost every bolt on mod I could find for it, and now that I’m looking to sell I’m definitely not going to get what I put into it lol
My dumb question of the day... If I'm trying to trade my z (once I finally get some time to finish the rest of the maintenance lol) for a 240 shell is that allowed to be posted in the marketplace on here or would it be better to just throw it up on FB Marketplace? Also looking at the marketplace for cars and shells it doesn't look super active, am I missing something or clicking into the wrong thread?

Not a dumb question at all. You can post a WTB in the marketplace here. I think you need to meet a ten post minimum before posting in there (we did that to deter spammers). If you do post in here, just be cautious for scammers, but that can also be said for FB. We do our best here to keep spam out, but WTB ads are huge for drawing scammers on forums and especially on FB. Honestly, you'd get more bites on FB or NICO because this forum hasn't been very active for the last several years. Do your due diligence if someone does contact you for a trade through any media type. If it's too good to be true, it probably is. I'm quite active on FB B/S groups and have learned how to spot scammers pretty easily on there. I can get into that more through PMs, if you want to send me a message.

I’ve bought and sold a few vehicles through Facebook and craigslist when it was still a thing, but I’m always happy to get some tips! Also being that I’m new to the S chassis some tips on what to look out for as far as common rust spots and common damage would be super helpful. I’m pretty good with a welder but would prefer to not have to do massive repairs because I didn’t know what to look for.

Oh, I imagine you would be good, then. I can't really offer the specific common spots to look at on the vehicle, but if you find something in your travels, feel free to post it in a thread on here and we can chime in.
