Well I did do a search and the best I can gather is the driveshaft spline diameter is different,or all that is different is the sensor or they think they are interchangeable... I was hoping to hear from someone that has actually swapped them and could shed some light on this.

What sensor?
Its a god danm transmission, it mounts the same too.
It is the same, and all you asked about was the transmission.
I think the S14 driveshaft is a little longer, so your going to want one from a 5 speed S14.
And what is "the yard"? A Junkyard? If so, they don't know anything.

same exact trans except s14 has a slightly bigger Bell housing. Keep in mind the Sr20, CA18, RB20, s13 KA24's all have SAME EXACT TRANS same gear ratio.

the s14 intermedeate shaft is longer(the bit that runs between the trans and carrier bearing). the s14 trans has a little sensor at the top of the trans where it bolts to the engine, CAS right(im new to the s14)? everything else should bolt up good.

whats this they are exactly the same save the bellhousing non-sense? the internal bits might be the same but the case is different, its not like they are interchangable. its not like you can take a ka trans swap in an sr bell housing and bolt that bitch to your sr. you would have to take the entire trans apart and then put it back together. myths by arm chair mechanics if you ask me.

ok tell me how to do it, seems to me the case is solid until u get past the 5th gear sensor. im not tryin to be an ass i just dont see how you could take it apart without all the crap inside falling out.

Ok thanks for the info guys. I bought a 90 tranny and it is not identical to the 95, but it will work with swapping a few parts.
1 bell housing with sensor on top.
2 speed sensor on side appears different

besides those two the tail shaft and the input shaft are the same diameter, spline, and
length. With all the s13s in salvage yards it will suffice as a swap. Thanks again.
p.s. The illustration of taking the bell housing off shows the rear case removed, that is not required in swapping the bell housing.

there is no other way to take it apart, there are no bolts holding just the bellhousing on. i have a spare 5spd that im gonna take apart. now when i crack the thing is all the stuff inside gonna fall out? i guess we'll find out.

you wait till i get done with failing every single class i took this semester Shwag and i'll show you a pic of a bellhousing and what happened when i took mine apart. prepare to see me put my foot in my mouth.

Hey i got a problem on my s14 tranny there was a sensor on the very top front of the trans on my s13 there is no such hole for the sensor anywhere around there. What do i do does that sensor hook up in the back? I hate wires

That sensor is the crankshaft position sensor or crankshaft angle sensor. It is not neccesary on a S13. On a S14 it is neccesary.
