Sorry guys, Im a noob, I'll admit it. I just bought a 1990 SOHC 240sx and Im gonna TRY my best to throw a SR in it. Do I HAVE to relocate the battery to the trunk or some where else or is there any way possible I can keep it in the engine bay. I'd really appreciate some help

You don't have to relocate the battery to the trunk, but you will probably have to use a smaller battery, if you are planning on running a front mount. You need the smaller battery to clear the piping that goes to the throttle body. However, this will also depend on what intercooler/piping you use.
Grab a Mazda Miata battery and let her rip. I recently relocated to the trunk in my car and love how much cleaner it looks tho.
If you have any kind of audio system in your car I would reccommend moving your battery to your trunk instead of getting a half size battery.

Its kind of an annoying process to do, relocatiing your battery. But like dub said it makes everything look so much cleaner. I need to do mine one of these days.

me too...
dub where did you route your wires?
I have a distribution block in my engine bay that goes to the starter, ACC, and battery in the trunk. I ran a 0 gauge wire from the passenger side original battery location, up under the fender (tucked away really nicely), into the cabin. Then after in the car I ran it under the passenger seat where I put a 300amp inline fuse to prevent fires. After the fuse it goes under the carpet and wraps around the sides of the trunk. Let me see if I can get some pictures.

Here is the trunk ( sorry for blurry picture)

okay cool that is exactly how I was planning on doing it, other then the 300amp fuse, which I think im going to add now. I dont feel like trying to tuck the wire under my car.. Although its going to be a pain trying to hide the wire going into the back seat, and then into the trunk. I'll figure something out though.

+1 for nissan for having that handy little hole in the firewall eh? I find 240's have lots of nifty little things like that.
^^ there is a better way.
What would that be? and why is it better? Cutting your springs is the best way to lower your car?

Only about a foot of my power wire is exposed under the fender. Other then that it is all enclosed.
i want to relocate my battery too, i checked the sight but there's no threads about how to so ill keep lookin around or maybe have one of my friends with more vehicular know how than me help, cus idk shit about car wiring n stuff
ya to me, dub's way seems like a pretty legit way of doing it. I may put the fuse closer to my battery though

I basically just gave a DIY. What questions do you have about it?
you post a thread in the DIY section dub and we'll get it stickied. seeing as you have pictures and whatnot
well if you pop a small hole in the rubber housing where the motor harness wiring goes feed the wire through there and bam its never exposed to the molestation of a lowered car
it looks like it wouldnt even be close to rubbing

Very true, but that defeats the purpose of a "cleaner" engine bay. My wire has no chance of hitting my tire even if I go way lower and bought 22"s. Both are great ideas, but to each his own. I prefer a less cluttered engine bay.

Alright when I get some time I'll take pictures of my distribution block and get started.
for sure. i didnt take into account i can care less about my engine bay.
