Hey again guys, just got dOne with with my sohc to sohc swap lol fired it up last night ran great did a full vacuum delete minus the fpr of course, and today welded up a new exhaust and slapped it on and it started tickin like a lifter tick, test drie then to test my new 6 puck clutch and lightweight flywheel, get back and damn thing sounds like a diesel while it's idling. Ticking is louder and my god at the noise while your driving lol. Timing is set a little retarded by about 5*. Don't know what it could be right now as it sounded perfectly fine last night. And as with a new engine a full coolant and oil change along with 2-1/2 quarts of royal purple gear oil. When I checked the oil the dipstick had no oil visible on it either ECM after multiple checks cold and after warm engin? Any ideas help anything would be appreciated. Just praying it's not a rod bearing as I don't have time for a rebuild.

If you have the car idling, is the "tapping" noise steady? Also, while standing at the motor, SLOWLY increase throttle with the throttle body. Does the tapping noise INCREASE with RPM? Does it fade away? Does it stay at the same rate? These conditions can help pinpoint the problem.
