unfortunately only one of the 2 adapters for the fpr came in today. im hoping the other comes in tomorrow..... and the nipple i don't think will come in til monday which means i won't be able to drive it (but i'll be able to start her) So for the time being I'm just going to worry about getting the SAFC-II mounted and wired, and then try find a make shift plug for the FPR to see if she will start.

Check a misc. bucket of random bolts and use a little teflon tape maybe?

Resources? How do you mean?

i've got it all except what is the airflow sensor on the ka's ecu? is it the same as the injector signal, bc thats the pin they are pointing out in the N-1 diagram, however on every other nissan's ecu they have the airflow sensor pointed out and no injector sensor.

Right now I'm working on mounting it where I want it.... and it wont be running bc piece of shit summit racing sent a male -8 an adapter and i needed female, so I have to send this one back and reorder the female which it says will ship on monday. fucking lame.

I definately thought I would have seen a start up video after sitting and reading six pages straight...haha, ohwell. Good to see your progress though, gets me excited for my eventual SOHC build as well. Getting in this bish to see some videos later on. Good work on a clean install so far, looking great.

well since you can't give us a vid how about some nice hi-res install pics to tide us over while we wait? :D

lol Big Lou I know what you mean and thanks for the compliments.. I was thinking on when posting on the 3rd page, damn this is a long thread without much substance lol. I dont have my camera with me home from school this weekend, but I'll post up the ones I do have of the finished product when I get back tomorrow night.

Oh and for the fun of it I painted the cover on my SAFC black so it would blend nicely with the interior. Too bad I don't have a camera to take pics of that lol ><.

Oh snap boys..................

She runs. :D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D

Front end isn't put back together yet and there are a few minor oil leaks (small drips) coming from the T-fitting and the oil cooler that we need to tighten up. But she runs great. Lil rough on the startup... still thinking its a fuel pressure problem (~34 psi right now) but it revs nicely. Only problem is I can hear the starting of what I think is a rod knock ><.... on the positive side rod knock means rebuild soon :-D ololo... gotta be optimistic i guess. Next weekend hopefully everything will be back on and it will be back out on the road.

Rod knock consistantly or only at certain revs? Are you just running the JWT or do you have a "fine tuner" on top of it?

only at certain revs, (~2800 rpm's.... any higher and its gone but any lower and I can't here it or its just not there). I'm running JWT for now, but I have SAFC I need to wire up and take to the dyno.

PS stock fuel pump is capable of up to 58 PSI... thats the highest I could record on my fuel pressure gauge before I switched out the stockie for the walbro 255 :)

I know its in a garage, but 3 inch straight exhaust w/ 1 resonator and a muffler sounds mean :D lol neighbors loved when I finally fired it up last night at 11:30 in my garage. My neighbor w/ the GT2 came running over in a bathrobe to see it lol.... damn crazy asian ********. (he's an avid mazda miata cup racer and used to race an older 93 996 RS for a porsche dealer around us and was interested in the build).

Ya man common lets get some vids of that biatch lol! Are you sure its knock? you should really wire you safc up to see how much knock the sensor reads. If you make a vid give us a holding rev where it knocking only so we can get a good listen on it, because you never know it might not be knock and just a bearing. Trust me unless youve rebuilt an engine before, you dont want to if you dont have a good reason to.

I took it for a test drive last night and things weren't exactly A-B-C. First half way down the driveway rear tires were rubbing on the inner fenders.... Well shit I thought at this point. I tighetened up the rear springs instead of raising it. Ended up working well and raised the rear by about ~.5" but I still need a roll on the fenders badly. Well I dealt with it and started off slowly, the car has a terrible tune for aything under 2500 rpms. Its very sluggish and I'm guessing just running way to rich due to the JWT ecu. Under WOT until I get to full boost it feels like the car is bogging. At WOT (on full boost) the car feels and pulls great . I was a quite satisfied with it. After getting a new tank of gas (was on E when I pulled out). Afterwards I pulled out and got on boost (only to ~4k rpms) in first and got on it in 2nd at which I heard a loud pop and the car started to spit quite a bit of carbon and sounded like it was choking. Luckily I was at the top of a hill and pulled into a parking lot and coasted down to a spot to pop the hood.

Seems under WOT it blew the coupling that was such a pain in the ass to get on (i think i posted a pic earlier of it). So thankfully nothing serious but its going to be a beyotch to get back on .

Anyone have a 6" long coupler? lol thats about all that help me at this point. The pipes are just too far off. What I'm thinking of doing is getting another 3" coupler, cutting the bottom pipe in half on the straight part, and using a coupler to extend the length and the flexibility of the pipe. So anyone have an extra coupler they feel like donating lol.
