Awhuile I changed the brakes and bleeded the system. Now the brake pedals are so hard. I can't even push the pedal down that far. I've tried to re-bleed them to see if it would loosen it but it got even harder. Now, I'm not sure what else to do. Did I do something wrong while I was bleeding the system?

while u were bleeding ur brakes assuming with a friend he pushes on the brake to the floor then for a very brief second u open the oil vein in the caliper and close then he lets off the brake u do this over and over until u get the right pressure. did u put more dot approved fluid in after? if not ur vacume boster could possibly be full of air and ur brakes arent getting any fluid or ur master cylinder is fucked up and ur just pressing against the booster try turning ur car on and just going for a 10 min drive?

but this is just my noob 15 yr old oppion and thout!

If your booster is shot there is a easy test to determine this. Press the brake pedal (WITH THE CAR OFF) when you get maxium travel hold the pedal at that postion. Then turn the car on if the brake pedal travles farther down towards the floor then it is not your brake booster, if it does not then it is your brake booster. Most likely its not tough. What problly happened is whoever was pumping the brake pedal ,if you were bleeding by foot, pressed on the pedal to hard ( you should never allow the brake pedal to go all the way to floor) and messed up the muffler/bushing inside the master clynder itself causing the hard pedal you are describing. Ive seen this problem alot, (im certified in brakes) and people bust that bushing all the time.

yea i was putting in more fluid as i bled the system. i didnt everything the way i was supposed to. i was reading the chilton manual for it. i think it probably is my brake booster, there's a small piece of paint chipped off not big but i guess that may be the reason. i thought it would last a lil longer since the paint is all peeling off.
