If you happen to come accross any ka24de PS lines and reservior pick those up. It's a easy swap out with your sohc PS lines. They work alot better as well and dont look all crazy after install. I am currently sitting on stock KA mounts but I can tell that fitment would be much better with the CA ones.

Pumaking : would you happen to know the price for the nismo CA mounts from Courtesy Nissan? I looked on their site and couldn't even find them.

thanks

Are they a have to have. Because i heard if you used the ka or sr mounts that it just made it sit an inch higher? would that be too high?

Its not a MUST have KA/ SR will work but like I said it puts the motor in a different angle and not in its original form. Plus they are pain to put in since you gotta muscle it in. It puts the shifter near the passenger side so when you shift to 5th it hits the transmission tunnel.

Like I said its not manditory but its HIGHLY RECOMMENDED. Plus the Nismo mounts are like $230 for both sides and transmission mount.

Anumeric the mounts are about $93-$95 each one. Courtesy doesnt have it listed you have to call it in.

Cool thanks a bunch for the info. I'll give them a call sometime this week. I rather have the mounts that are supposed to be in there.

Swap is alot easier than i though. It's just the knick knacks that kill you. Turbo lines, which i got from TAKA. Samco radiator hoses. Intercooler piping. Well you get the point. If you need any help with where to get the parts, just hit me up. I saved all the links.

no need to upgrade turbo lines or radiator hoses, stock stuff will work on both counts. I'm using a stock smic right now too. stick with stock till its running right then upgrade, that way you will know what is the cause of your problems when they rear their ugly head. which they will.

yeah its not a bad idea to run new rubber lines, I've had to replace a couple of mine. CA has external rubber coolant lines up the ying yang and they sorta like to spring pinhole leaks that are really hard to track down.

So to do the install all I would need is a front clip, new ps line, reservior, motor mounts and it just drops in? and maybe replace the gaskets? like does anyone have like a basic check list just to have the car running like a stock 180?

front clip
ps res.. and all that junk.
gaskets are up to you. personally im just doin bottom for now. front/rear main seal
no need for new mounts if the stock ones on the clip are fine.
exhaust, elbow, dp
you dont need a hole lot just a lot of knowledge

my checklist as follows
ca18 clip
oil catch can
manifold,elbow,dp,catback
FMIC
SS clutch hose
battery relocation kit from spl
maf adapter/filter
bottom end gasket set
steel one piece DS
SR flywheel, clutch, starter
s14 sr trans and ca bellhousing

that was it for engine. for the entire project add ksport coils and some nice brake pads and my entire project is at about 4500.

if you got a front clip why would you need a catch can, fmic, SS clutch hose, battery relocation, filter, one piece driveshaft, SR fly wheel, or SR trans?

I only got a motorset and I didn't need any of that (although I alreayd had the battery relocated, but it would have fit with the CA).

thx, I'm starting think I'd like a ca18 more than the other swaps, now I just need to find a shop in south jersey that'll do it, hope it's only about $1000 or so for the labor

ca swap is easy honestly if you can't do the swap yourself maybe rethink doing it because its not gonna be under warranty or anything and you probably want to be able to work on it and fix it and if you don't put it in you aren't gonna learn that stuff and you won't know what hooks up to what.

if you have half a brain and some instructions, you can do the wiring. and depending on how fast you are and how much mechanical knowledge you have (where everything goes and how it goes) and how much motivation you have it shouldnt take long. me? i dont stop working until theres nothing else to do (lack of parts or tools) i cant stop. i did a ka swap in a weekend. the only reason we stop the first day is because the clutch was obliterated and needed to wait for one to come in. so it depends solely on you.
