Purchased a 92 240sx Hatch with a KA24DE last year, have been off and on messing with it. The car absolutely will not start. I'm not too familiar with this platform unfortunately, so excuse me if I sound a bit goofy when it comes to describing what is happening

First off, the car cranks, always has since I bought it. As I've made small improvements (new plugs, new wires, new distributor cap) the crank has gotten much better.

The fuel pump is working just fine, the injectors sound like they are firing as well.

I've tried adding starter fluid, I've put a new battery in whilst having another car hooked up to it for extra juice.

I'm just lost. I've done Fuel, Spark, and Air. So what else could be causing this issue?? (also it does have compression across the board)

Any suggestions are much appreciated, I really don't want to sell this car.

Thank you.

Have you checked / verified the timing is correct & the distributor cap & rotor are installed correctly?

Have you verified the correct fuel pressure from pump to injectors?

Just because they sound like it's working - doesn't mean it's working the way it should

Make sure all your wiring and fuses function properly.

Verify your timing.

Also, make sure the fuel is new. My old truck used to have this issue. I bought it (didn't know how long it sat) but it would only run on starter fluid.
I took out the tank and cleaned out all the old fuel and with new fuel, it ran. It's my daily driver right now.
Try using some starter fluid, you should probably put a little bit. With the car off, take off the connection at the throttle body. Open the throttle body, spray in some starter fluid, reinstall the connection and see if it runs any different. It should start up and run for a second or two.

Make sure you download the Factory service manual. They have a good flow chart of what to do.
Also grab a consult port and a laptop to see if your sensors are all working properly.

Hey man, sorry to hear your having trouble with the car.

You can do this a few ways. If you are really strapped for cash, then there is a way to read the codes from the actual ecu using the blinking light method.

You can download the factory service manual which is free and see what you need to do.

Download the factory service manual, from here

To be better at keeping the car running well, I suggest this route.

Get yourself a consult cable. They are really freaking cheap. These are your link to what the car is doing. It's kind of like an obd2 port but since the car is older than 1996, it's a Nissan specific connector known as the consult port. It should be located right near your fusebox in the driver or passenger side footwell.

Consult cable:

Doesnt have to be that one. But you want it for a Nissan.

Ebay has these for really cheap. I'm talking like $20.

Then you need a laptop or a tablet that can run some software. I've used ECUtalk with some success in the past. It's free and it lets you read codes and see the sensor readings.

So once you get your cable, software, and laptop all set up, you can just plug in and see if any codes pop up. Check these codes against what the FSM has.
You can also see the voltages for each sensor. You can sit in your driveway and just look at what the car is doing. You can make them all look like dial gauges so if something is pegged at one value or is erratic, you can see it visually.
You can also let someone else drive it around while you monitor and see what's happening.

Hope you get it figured out. Don't be like me and throw a crap load of parts at it.

Instead of throwing money at parts, throw money at a mechanic to diagnose the issue first xD. I would definitely consider looking at the fuel tank, and making sure your wiring is mostly straight.
