The car's haven't changed since 1998, "outdated" info in a lot of cases is still correct. Just because it's old doesn't mean it's wrong.
Can you say the same thing in cases like the KA-T? No, because in 2000 it was HARDLY an established index in tuning or aftermarket companies.
Try reading a forum on KA-Ts in 2003 when all you get is squabble and not alot of info because it's hardly been done (If at all properly) back then. compare that to a thread from 2008+ and you will see what i mean.
Not to mention, alot of those old threads have dead links on them which won't help either. or they refference an outdated method or product to accomplish something, between then and now, a new better product or method could have been pioneered or developed for doing that certain task. If i were to swap an RB25 using nothing but good judgment and info from 2001, i wouldn't even know i could get conversion mounts for my car and end up wasting time and money to fab everything up like the old days... because the info wasn't recent... do you understand now?
ADD: Its almost impossible to find a discussion of frame integrity and body condition in S14s because its not something alot of people think about or care about with this car.
You wanna talk about universal knowledge and applying it to make assumptions about how to carry out projects? Go read a thread in 02 where veterans are all making poor statements about how KA-Ts can't be done sensibly. all based off of "universal" theories in mechanics. which may be scientifically accurate, but not necessarily right. now read an article from this year and their knowledge is beaten down, even if they were engine gurus, they were still wrong!. another reason why it helps to not just make an educated guess and SEE if someone made something possible.
Bottom line: If i know what the task is at hand, and it's clear in my head what i want to do. Doesn't it make SENSE to want to find out if it is at all possible that there are established WAYS to do what im about to do before i proceed to macgyver it?
