lmao you have to be pretty precise when cutting the hole for the intercooler. Just wait until you actually have the kit.

 

Even if I know the general area I can still make like a 6" hole and be OK.

 

It wont rust and it will look alot better if you wait. After you get it painted, lightly heat up the paint with a hair dryer and then cut a hole with a hole saw and then tape off the edge and hit it with a little bit of rustoleum spray paint in the same (or as close as you can get) to the engine bay.

IMO, a little (just the lip of the cut) bit of spray paint will look a whole lot better than a gapping hole!

Great sketch out. You might have to give up your battery space and relocate it to the trunk, that's what I did. But if you must do this before you paint your car you can cut a box out for piping under your battery rack and on the other side where the SMIC hotpipe goes down to.

splitting a piece of silicon hose and running it around the cut edge of the hole makes it look clean and protects your intercooler pipe.

 

Wait until you get the engine in and the intercooler. You can always get some extra paint from the painter and touch up the hole after.
