Dashboard question.

I have an 89' S13 hatchback. The dashboard I currently have has millions of cracks and I want to buy a new one. My Heads up display still (yes shockingly still) works. The question I ask is, Does it matter what dashboard I get to replace my old one? the non heads up and the heads up? I still would love to keep my heads up display.

Its not worth the hassle to get another dash that will just crack anyway. I've swapped 3 dashes over the period I've had my car and they've all cracked due despite using sun shades. Just get a dash cover; its cheaper and no one would tell the difference anyway. But if you decide to replace the dash, you could get a non-hud dash and cut a hole for your hud or get a hud dash and just swap the hud over.
My dash is still immaculate and I never used a sun shade, you must be doing something wrong if you've had 3 crack. Dash swaps are not hard just take some time to pull it all apart. And yeah you can use either dash, but need to cut a hole when using a non-hud dash
Over time your dash will crack too.
I think climate might affect it some also. When I got my car the dash was perfect.

Then I sprayed armor all on it.

That fucked it the same night.

>_<
I've also never used armor all on my interior, good ol water and a light detergent. And my dash is wrapped in suede now so no more worrying about cracks :D
Yeah I heard wrapping it does the trick. I know a guy who can do that for me for 20 bucks. But thanks for the Info guys. I really appreciate it.
Ive used the method of baking soda and glue from the tech website to repair cracks, however instead of using super glue. I used 2 part epoxy and baking soda mixture into the cracks. Mixing all together before applied. :beer2:

no it would not matter if it was a non HUD dash, you would just have to cut the hole were the HUD goes. other than that the dash is identical.
