i was wondering what people were getting for 1/4 mile times with their cars. i have a 98 ka-t and would like to run mid to low 13's. im planning upgrading my current crappy fuel management, fmu with an s-afc, with something good but honestly if all i have to do is make 250whp-270whp then im not going to go crazy with it. so a friendly 1/4 mile time with an estimated or exact horsepower would be much appreciated! thanks!

To run a mid to low 13 all you need is around 240 whp in an S13, an S14 I am not really to familiar with. In my 91 I am putting 190 hp to the wheels with nitto drag radials, LSD, new coilovers, and some under the hood stuff and I ran a 14.4. The DR's and LSD are the two biggest factors, If you can get/use ALL of the power that you are making to the ground without spinning (Nitto's) and hook good with both wheels (LSD), a light weight, low hp car can run good times. You just have to utilize every single hp you can. Big hp, shitty suspension, no LSD will get you only big burnouts, it's a fact. Why do you think 200 hp Civic's run low 13's?, they are light and have drag radials and a LSD. Hope this helps. :thumbsup

Hondas are also pretty quick because of there gearing. There final drive ratios insanely short in some cars. If your really serious about 1/4 times then take out the 4.08 rear gear that the s13, s14 has and replace it with a 4.33 or 4.66 gear from Nissan Motorsports. I was thinking about putting 4.33 gears in mine sooner or later. Your milage will go to shit on the highway but its all good in the 1/4.

i ran 14.9 with an open diff and all season kumho's with 150 whp. I'm n/a also. 13s should be really easy if you're turbo.

so my reasoning for asking is, im making about 250whp and am going to ad a lsd and i already have good tires and was hoping to break into 13's. does anyone think this should be a problem!
