My understanding is that there's some nominal improvement in horsepower and throttle response with the delete. It can also potentially lead to engine knock.
I grabbed a '91 with the delete and the engine runs phenomenally. No knock whatsoever.
If i'd had the egr in place, i'd probably leave it.
