I was wondering about something, how much money and how hard would it be to make a 11 sec. 240sx? Don't get me wrong, Im not much of a streetracer or anything like that, but I do go to the local drag strip every now and then.
Thank You for your help!!!

man there are several different ways you could go it just depends on how much you really want to spend. Asking how much it's gonna cost is relative. If you want something that is cheaply put together then you might do it under $2000. If you want to do it right then you could spend up-wards of $7000 easily...

I have, right now, 5K saved up. What could I do with that?

If you have a 240 + 5K then it depends on what route you want to go. RB, SR, KAT, CA, VH, VG, and so on. For the money I think the KA-T would be the best route, but you need to be mechanically inclined. The KA-T would be the cheapest route, but it is going to be time consuming and fairly hard to setup up everything. If would also be recommended that you rebuild the KA if you want to run in the 11 sec range reliably. The SR/RB/CA are all good choices too, but you have to add the motor to the cost where as the KA is already in the car and are relatively plentiful at junkyards where they can be had for cheap. In the end it really depends on what exactly you want. I would recommend you sit down with a piece of paper and write out what your main priorities are then choose based on those priorites...

Call me ignorant but, in the research i have done on the RB25DET and SR20DET, if you wanna get into the 11's i would go with the RB25DET....reason being, it comes stock with more HP, and you put a better turbo on the thing with your standard air and fuel upgrades and your already near 400-450 hp, putting you relativley close to your 11 sec. mark!!! IMO

it depends which route you want to take motor wise...who is going to be installing all the stuff and such. You can get an SR into the 11s with a t28 on high boost with some slicks and nice driving...but all in all, its going to be more than 5k
