you were still going at 180mph?....on a stock ka?....do you have the speed limiter thing still working?.....dunno about that....personally seen an m3 not be able to break 150mph, and his shit was bad-ass...my prelude, granted it is a different car, has WAY more top end than the ka and i cant get it past 145mph....not calling you a liar or anything...but you have to get picks or video or somethin' or your gonna get ragged on....

 

I laughed so hard at this. My S14 my old one witch was a newer year then my current one well i totaled it anyways it had 325whp and it toped off at 180 with the transmission worked out a little.

 

When my 240 was stock (and had a motor and transmission in it) I beat my friends S10 lol. With the new motor that is nothing more then just a paper weight, nothing yet.

You guys that think top speed is cool are fucking lame. Yeah if you have a real high speed in the 1/4 that is an acomplishment but as far as top speed goes its retarded lots of cars can hit 140+ My old NA 300zx was slow as piss through the 1/4 it but down big numbers i the high 15s. But I still managed to top out that car on a nice long straight i hit 148 and i would have gone faster if it wasnt for the speed limiter. So if you think thats fast your dumb. That was a slow 15 second car and im glad to this day that, that damn thing is gone. Im going to pick up my sr20det powered 240sx in a week now thats somthing to say is fast.

hmmmm you think top speed is gay? i'm sorry to say but hp numbers matter alot more on the highway then from a dig. almost any car is about equal from 0-60. every car is geared extremely low so that you can make up for the lack of hp. that is why most cars that lack hp falls on its face when they hit third gear.

now you change the scenario. your on the highway your in 3rd gear goin 70mph you have 300hp vs. a car with 200hp in 2rd gear. the speed difference will be soo great that you will leave the 200hp car by bus lenghts. the time it takes for the 200hp car to hit 120mph your already well in the 130's. when my 240 was near stock, it would take well over a mile to top out my car from 80-120mph. now with the power i'm making now, i can hit 70-120mph in less then 1/4 mile distance.

also it to double the speed you need 8 times the hp. sure your Z can hit 148mph but my car can hit that like 4-5 seconds before you can. you know how many car lenghts that is? exactly. my car is not tuned for 1/4 mile its more of a top end highway car.

Fastest car I've beaten was a Z28 with my KA, and I'm not joking. I don't know what was wrong with his car. It was and old 93 automatic. This was in front of three of his Camaro/Firebird friends (who later on proceeded to beat me in a race, lol). This is with my 190,000 mile SOHC KA. 2.5" exhaust, clutch, flywheel, no power steering, manual transmission, much lighter and a hell of a lot better gearing comared to his 2.7's with a 4 speed. I had raced a few other Z28's and kept up with them from a roll, but they'd definitely pull away eventually of course.

I haven't really raced with the SR20DET on the street yet. Fastest cars I've beaten at the track were a 300ZX Twin Turbo (Automatic) and a Supercharged Mustang GT. He wasn't too bright of a guy when I talked to him and he said he did everything himself. If it were tuned right, it would have been quick.

Fastest car I beat in my 240 was a gsx...and yes it was from a dead stop.

Fastest car i beat in my TII, would probably have to be, an SVT cobra.(benefit of being small light and turbo'ed..turbo...the true replacement for displacement). It was one of the older body styles, and if thats not fast enough for you then i beat Top Secrets Supra after i hit my 180mph mark in the states, i decided i could go take it on. So, i shipped my car over to Okinawa on my yacht with my personal fleet, and got out. Immediatly went to the wangan, and beat him going 345mph with no gas, oil or water. did i mention my car is stock? :heyhey

Second, your bearings would most likely fall out of the motor, once you held it past 160 (if you could even get that speed.) Third, KA24DET 240s run like a 15.9-14.9 stock depending on the launch. And, 3rd gen RX7's run like what....a 13.5-13.2 stock?So how do you figure your KA, can keep up with a 13brew? Especially with a frontmount etc..didnt really pay attention to ur story. So your saying bonestock you beat him, when he is modded? Was half of his engine missing? Or did you go into a parking lot and accidentally line up with a front clip of an RX7, or did you just dream it? You should just leave the forums right now.... lol.

Most KA-T's run a hell of a lot faster then 14.9. But that was probably a newbie error, you probably meant "KA24DE". But in that case you would be wrong again. Most ka24de cars run low sixteens to high fifteens.

The ka isn't even geared long enough to do 180 I don't think. Why would his head have melted? Let me guess if he was spraying he would've melted the welds on his intake manifold right?

And I am pretty sure he was just joking, or the little "stock" comment in his signature is for unsuspecting rookies (you know, the type of ppl who think stock TII rx-7's are fast :gaylaugh )

he might have meant 180 km/hr. my guages are out of a japanese 180 or silvia and it stops at 180km/hr. This is roughly 110-115 mph. i peg this all the time. its so easy with my sr20 now....

I just installed Altima cams (248 degree duration) and holy shit batman!!! huge differnce in performance. so I'll race again soon. :happyfing

15.9-14.9 ka stock? no way man, thats too much of a gap and it's not even close.

More like 17's-16's STOCK. With some mods you might be able to get into the high 15's.

i beat a vtec prelude from a 10 mph roll to about 95 and i wansnt stock.

 

I had a turbo mx-6 91 and it had 145hp and 190tq. It put down mustang 5.0s until the end of forth gear the mustangs would just walk away from then on. That was about 127 when I had to shift to fifth. It was quick but didn't put down good numbers when modded. Yah..thats about it. Its pretty much mustang country here.
