Fastest you've drifted a corner at?

I'm not talking about dinky powerslides, now....

But what's the fastest corner/speed that you've drifted?

For me, I usually do most of my drifting in a laid back, kinda lazy style, because I usually grip everything. I usually drift most stuff at 30-50mph. But right now my car is set up for more oversteer, and on top of that I have my rear set fairly stiff, and have really cheap tires on the back.

On the way to work today I took the interstate onramp, which has 2 sets of "s" curves, and they get a little tighter each time, and they are one after the other. Well I took the first too fast for cheap rear tires @80mph, which caused a powerslide, but then i continued to accel through the powerslide to 85 or so. I knew i was going way too fast for the next one, so I jabbed the brakes, which caused a huge weight shift and unloaded the rear! I was in a "braking" drift through the next corner at 75mph! I countersteered to correct the angle of my front tires, and held it all the way through the corner.

The feeling was amazing to have your car in a controlled slide at that speed.

Anyone else? What speed is everyone else drifting at?

my car doesn't run. it goes a consitant 0mph in my driveway
LOL, But it's on its way, right?

One day, the 240 will run, and the Honda will be sitting in the driveway, because the 240 is such a blast to drive!

I know this, because I also have a 95 Talon turbo, which is a faster car acceleration wise, but my 240 kills it in the fun factor! I rarely drive it now.

one time i took a corner too fast on a highway, i was doing about 120 in an all stock pretty much s14, i was in full countersteer for like 200 yards probably, smoke was coming of the front and back tires. It was definetly scarey as hell, i thought i was gonna flip for sure. too bad i didnt get it on video.

no, i just play one on tv. its a good fast cheap car. its got more power than a mustang, its got a pos stock, the motor if taken car of will runs past 250k, and a six footer can sleep comfortably in the back seat. i love the thing. not to mention it will cruise at 140mph with the radio on and the ac blowin ice cold and still have power left over.

at dd21 a couple times i hit this one turn barely in to third, i dont know my speed because my speedomoter is broken. on the street usually like 20-40 depending on the turn.

at dd22 theere was one turn that you could probably go pretty fast, but my car kept braning and overheating.:(

DD14 Irwindale . . . 2nd gear at 65+mph. running stock KA no mods what soever and open diff.
YOU'RE FULL OF SHIT UP TO YOUR HAIR!!!! :rotflmao

How the fuck does a bone stock 240 with an open diff drifts at 65 mph IN 2ND GEAR????? :nono
I don't know what kind of rearend or final drive gear set you ziptied into that car. I do know that my car runs out of second gear around 50 something, is that somekind of magic open diff that can wind out all the way to 70mph and keep both wheels spinning WITH no power??? :smacked49 Try again, this time minus bullshit.

My fastest "drift" (I use the term drift loosely because it sounds like anytime the tires are squealling a little bit most you clowns call it "drifting") according to what I've read on this thread I suppose I'll mention a time with my old open diff set up (ghey). 70 mph entry speed 35 mph exit ramp (52 east to 163 south) I was with a customer of mine. It was 70 mph entry speed, but I think I was down to 65 when I kicked the clutch TO INITIATE.

I haven't heard 1 person mention HOW they initiated the drift, all I've read is I went waaay too fast, and !!BAM!! it was just like the drift bible I counter-steered and everything  stop kidding yourselves.

What happened to you guys was accidental, not intentional, and it sounds like most of you guys were happy to be alive afterwards because you were scared shitless.

Nice try

This thread gets a D-

i wasnt scared because it was just a bunch of cones, and i was running open diff at that time too, with only springs that were really soft, so i had to ebrake it, but no shame here, i treid to clutch kick but i would just get really bad understeer, coilovers and a lsd helped that though:)

I can't believe you said that...i guess you are speaking about everyone in this forum...I think you need to hold your thoughts to yourself. Let me know when the next time you are going to the track so i can tag along and drift accidental with you.

Did everyone in this forum post on this thread, NO.

If you're so insecure about yourself that something I posted offended you, oh well, not my problem, posting thoughts and experiences is what these forum-thingys are for.

Probably DDay advanced next month, I have to do my brakes first. Put a cage in if you want to tandem, mine's already in. :thumbsup

1st I am not crying or insecure about my driving skills, but making a bold statement like that makes it seem like you are already a D1 Driver. I am planning on doing my FIRST DRIFT DAY next month. As soon as I get to the advance level then I would love to run with you. NO, it's not my first time drifting, I spent a year in japan drifting. Oh, one more thing...I am not getting mad about what you wrote. It's all good in my book.
