Anybody have a RB20/25 swap done by a shop? Just curious on a rough price range. Specifically if you provided the clip/engine but any information would be greatly appreciatied.

I'd be concerned about the quality of work done for that kind of price. I paid nearly twice that for mine. The engine itself can be 4,000+. You add custom driveshaft, downpipe, and motor mounts? That's 500 right there easily. Wiring, custom intercooler piping, bigger fuel pump, electric fans, intake....well...you get the picture. The saying "you get what you pay for" holds true for motor swaps too.

Check out www.mckinneymotorsports.com and look at the parts they have for sale. Then you may get an idea of how expensive this swap really is.

RB20DET swap would be much cheaper.

edit: I paid nearly twice that because I bought other parts too. Basic swap I think is somewhere in the $8000 range with parts/labor.

the guys at Joule the place here own 2 NISSAN SKYLINES GTR, one runs 10.6,the other is street driven put down 845AWHP @ 27psi,out elevation here is 5000+ft,so I doubt that they dont know what they are doing, they charge $3,400 for a RB25 f clip, and the rest in labor= $4,600 You just got ripped!
I have seen one 240 w/ an RB25 they did, very clean, they made their own custom motor mounts/driveshaft,dpipe,and did the wiring!

RB20 Clip - $2250, Install $1250, Custom Mounts (if wanted $350), Misc parts $100

Total: $3600 w/o mounts

RB25 Clip - $3250, Install $1250, Custom Mounts (if wanted $400), Custom Driveshaft $400, Misc parts $100.

Total: $5000 w/o mounts

Other people charge more, some charge less....that's just an idea of what the cost would be. If you supplied engine, you'd subtract the clip/engine price...however, if you don't bring the shop a complete motorset or front clip, they may have to purchase other parts to make it complete.

I still say it's too good to be true...but I guess I don't know what all you're having done. If you can have it done well for that cheap then that's awesome. I just know that what I was quoted by at least 3 places was no where near $4600.
