well i just got my redtop today i need to know what all do i need for a full tune up i do know like basic what i dont know is best yr and where to get parts from napa or dealership i only want the best...

example: spark plugs- what yr for nissan ser ect ect for all rest for good full tune up before droppin it in thnx alot all info will be helpfull..

i recommend replacing all the seals and gaskets (cometic headgasket would be a good idea) while its out, send out the head to get port/polished new pistons would be good at this time, 1mm over valve job, new rods while you're at it, replace the water pump, maybe add on a bigger fuel pump (255lph walboro), fuel rail, FPR, another set of of cams.. i like crower, MSD ignition system while you're at it, NGK plugs.. maybe a precision intercooler

basically while its out you want to build it up so that you don't have to worry about hoisting the motor again when you've boosted to much on stock internals and break something.

will you be installing this yourself, or letting a shop take care of it?
if you're doing it yourself, a lot of clips/engine importers won't honor their warranty if something happens and it wasn't installed by a A.S.E mechanic

im askin what sparks plugs to get i know ngk but what yr do i want and out of what car and same for thermistat so basicly in know nissan ser are same but yr is best to get parts so i can do tun up all i want to do myself... Im a welder so i make plenty of money im take it to shop for rest of hard work like aluminum driveshaft and what not and fully biult port and polish head which i can score for 400bucks :) lucky me

Spark Plugs: BCPR7-ES (gap them down to .030)
Belts: FWD SR should work (91-95 SER)
Fuel filter: Z32 TT filter (90-95)
Oil filter: Redtops (91-93 SER) Blacktops (95 SER)

Those are the only things off the top of my head that you need. Those and fresh vacuum lines and water heater lines. Do yourself a favor while you have the engine out. Under the intake manifold, you will see water lines, some hard lines, some are hoses. CHANGE THOSE HOSES NOW. When they blow, itll suck alot trying to change them.

Sharkey.. i honestly dont think a stock SR is worth all that work of ripping it completely appart and changing everything, you'd be better off just building a motor from scratch.
just change anything you can take off the motor with in 2 minutes and its good, i didnt repalce anything on mine and it ran beautiful and never used or burned any oil and had perfect compression. the japaneese take care of there cars better then we do even tho they race um. and the OEM parts on the SR's are better then what you but from a autoparts store. I bought a new waterpump and after looking at the one that came off my SR i just put it back on and returned the new one. way better quality. If your going to change any part on your SR get factory SR20det parts from japan.:thumbsup

you remind me of a man i once met on craigslist nijjaman, glad you decided to keep the car =D!

best of luck on your build up.. don't skimp on the suspension its just as important

first, don't retard or advance at the dizzy, get some form of EMS that allows you to do it right (IE in the IGN tables). second, no "nos (brand name? lol)" please! just build up your turbo setup. lastly... get a real wideband setup and ditch the disco light show.
